The designers went berserk around the world, making more ridiculous contraptions that look like mangled wrecks. On top of that they increased power to 150-200 HP and more. They must be smoking something that fries their brains. With all the gimmicks they jack up prices to ridiculous levels that few riders can afford, even if they were willing to ride such ridiculous monsters. This is madness on steroids, the freakshow!

Sorry I missed the live. I've been to Tokyo about 13 times now over the years. My brother now lives in Roppongi after moving from near National Azabu market. I was last there the first week of January. Always enjoy your routes to see if I recognize the places you point out. Keep up the great videos!

Thanks for the vicarious thrills riding through Tokyo with you. Your auction friend is correct, "People don't buy green cars." I remember the Mercedes Dealer here in Alaska had a green car sitting in his showroom forever as well. I suspect he would have been willing to take a loss on it to avoid the accumulating flooring charge. As an aside, when we were visiting the Mercedes factory near Stuttgart years ago we were told that at that time the Japanese buyers preferred a light yellowish/off white cream color and most of the cars headed to Japan were mostly all of that color.

Speak of the devil, there she is the F3 RC …best sounding triple in existence and one of the freest revving motorcycle motors I’ve ever heard/experienced in my life. I had the last one of my favorite RC color way at a dealer …the last NEW 2019 in the USA still available, but it had minor damage in transport and needed a new fairing so the dealer refused to sell it until the part came in and I waited for nearly 2. Years checking back in repeatedly and finally I emailed the owner of the dealership one day and I was like look I want that bike I’ll take it in the current condition and you can just ship me the fairing later. After ~2 years of telling me it was unavailable to be reserved or sold I was told someone came in the day before and put a deposit on it and they’d be in to pick it up in a week. I was furious and gutted. I wanted that specific bike, last in the country and waited for it only to somehow have it “stolen” from me 18 months later.

I take it you find the speed triple to be the superior and more enjoyable bike as compared to a street triple 675 or 765? Have you had any experience with the MV Agusta’s 800cc triple ? In the sub 1000cc segment I rank MV’s 800cc triple as #1 (particularly in RC trim) Triumph’s 675 second, and yamaha’s CP3 in 3rd…although if torque is most important than the Yamaha may make more sense for many people

How long have you lived in Japan? I’ve always dreamed of living there but the tales of lifelong or decades long residents being treated as lesser-than by a not insignificant % of the population concerns me but I suppose the low crime rate cancels out all but the social & rejection component of that concern

When I went to Japan those random lines really caught my eye. I saw a gigantic line close to Tokyo Tower leading down to what I can only describe as a hole in the ground... apparently a good spot to take a picture of the Tower. There must have been at least 250 people in the line all waiting hours to take the exact same picture... the power of influencers and social media I guess.

Missed it live but enjoyed it with morning cup of tea…Amazing how long people are willing to stand in line for food! It’s just an onigiri (or tamago-yaki roll, takoyaki, ramen, etc.). Some celebrity vlogger publicizes it and everyone thinks it’s a must do for the bucket list. This curmudgeon will not waste her allotted time on earth standing in a line for hours to experience ordinary food items 🙂↔️ Great ride as always! And no, SoCal didn’t get to experience the aurora sky show ☹️
