Good evening, almost a day late, but that's what happens when being 8 hours behind Japan ;) On the crowded trains, I think the situation has slightly improved. When I first came to Tokyo in 2018 and 2019, there were moments when the trains were very crowded and people got squished together, but on my visits last and this year, I did not experience that, certainly not on the Yamanote line. Crowded? Yes, but feeling like a sardine in a can? Not anymore. And finding a seat? Yes, if you have to go far enough. The major stations are alwaus moments when those trains almost run empty and then full again 🤭. The worst I encountered must have been in 2019 when I was staying in Hamadayama and had to make it to the city to go and explore in morning rush hour. But I can also imagine how for women the experience can be even more daunting and even less pleasant. I do hope that you don't live too far from convenient transit locations, but I assume that if it is that central, it shouldn't be a problem 😉 And over here, in Belgium, you don't have to pay another company to do the research, you can do so yourself. There's a public database that lists all official companies with the locations they have, all the registration details, a link to the paperwork of founding and modifying the company, a link to the website of the national bank where you can view the yearly financial filings and so on. While I am not a business owner, I do use it when I am looking for a new job to vet any potential employer, get an idea about their size, their financials, but also the stability in employment as the filings for larger companies also show how many people left the company and were hired in a year.

It seems like it was just yesterday that you moved to Tokyo. And now we're at the end of the yesr. Where did all that time go?
