Such an encouraging walk! We have a thing in theatre called "post show depression". We always know that following the high of doing a show, there will always be a down period. We wait for it. You may find that your episodes center around being up for so long and finally letting down. Change is also challenging for people prone to depression. I can attest to that one! Your honesty and humanity are so encouraging, Shinichi!

Mental health struggles are nothing to be ashamed of. Many people struggle to maintain physical, mental and emotional balance. I find it to be one of the hardest things about being human. Glad to see you coping in such a healthy way (long walks). And I think your partner is so sweet and wise to remind you that you may need to take your meds to stop from spiraling further down. So good you have that kind of support. Love and hugs to all my fellow humans who struggle with depression and brain chemistry.

I appreciate your ability to be in the moment, in good times and bad times. Your quiet walks around residential neighborhoods are so intimate. They feel like spending time with a dear friend. Thank you for taking the time to share a part of your life with all of used thank you for your openness with this difficult time. I hope it helps you to share these moments as it does for many of your fans that may also suffer from anxiety or depression. It is also my hope that you have someone you can consult professionally to help you process and cope with the sadness you experience at times. With medication and talk therapy so much can be realized., especially during such strange times in this world. I wish you only the best and look forward to your next installation on this channel or Tabieats. Sincerely, Hiromi

Thank you for being open and honest about your mental health struggles, Shinichi. I have anxiety and panic disorder too. The more people that talk about it, hopefully the less stigma around living with and dealing with these chronic conditions that affect so many of us every day. I also struggled with starting on medication at first, especially because it's not well-understood how medications actually help with anxiety. I tried counseling, mindfulness, and all kinds of behavioral changes to try to get it under control, but I still had so many days where I could barely function and I never felt like myself. I started on a small dose of a maintenance medication (meaning I take it every day) and also have an emergency medication around for panic attacks. I've been taking my meds for over 12 years and I'm so glad I'm able to do so. I would never push anyone to take meds if they don't feel comfortable, but also don't want people to avoid taking them if they could help because they think there's a stigma or perceived "weakness" in using medication to support your mental health. Sometimes our brains just need some extra help.
@ajl81982 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree completely its brain chemistry and the medication helps to get things in working order true anxiety and depression is a physiological disorder its not something a person can cantrol so medication is a god sent help

About what you said about triggers and depression, that's part of PTSD. I got them too. They are rooted in all the traumatic or infuriating issues of the past that we kept bottled up and they never got resolved, so when triggers happen even if they're objectively really minor, they can trigger an exaggerated response from us which comes from us getting welled up or suddenly our negative emotions sort of overspilling by the addition of that source of problem that is getting added to the already massive pile of stuff we are tolerating on our shoulders or like how adding one card to a tower card makes the entire thing fall off. Just know that, it's not you. It's very normal and common with people with PTSD specially with the stuff we have been through, very normal to overreact with anything that has even the faintest smell of those issues or just everyday problems too. And know that your psyche needs time to adapt to whatever minor or major changes that have happened around you which I know it's hard for our bruised scarred up psyches to adapt (since it's part of human nature to have a tendency to also link stability and security with nothing changing), that's why you often see people who had difficult lives not being very good at accepting new things or being really cynical to any changes even those that are not shady. I hope this little explanation helps.

Hi Shinichi,the world is saddened by the news in Japan today,these are complicated times&am grateful for being older so travelled in simpler times.Does your dad like certain eateries? May I suggest doing a twice yearly detox as food truly affects my mood.If I tell ppl of travels,ppl think how lucky I am but with my injury it's very hard&rely solely on self, I stubbornly carry on with my travels regardless Do you have a gratefulness journal or maybe put on some happy retro music.Also,a natural supplement is St John's Wort&some pet therapy might be good. They say we should never compare ourselves to others&should focus on what we have&may I suggest people read The Resilience Project,stay well
