The age thing also confused me but you have to remember that Japanese middle school and American middle school range from different ages. I think majority of these characters would be in American high school if I remember their ages correctly.

Yup, so Kiyomasa in this episode, or some of the older characters in later episodes are all at least 14 years old, which is already high school age in the US.

If you look up tokyo gangs past or present alot of the members are kids takemitchys age. Also ive went to school with gang members in middle school who always got into fights and almost never came to class. Their parents always seemed non existent in their lives. All this is completely normal in gang culture.

Middle school in Japan is 7th 8th, and 9th grade so the 3rd years are essentially high school freshman. As for how you're supposed to feel it's half wanting to save the girl and half of wanting the Mc to stand up for himself

He's a 26 something year old in a teenagers body and he hasn't been in a fight in years. Yet he stands up to the scariest and toughest guys around. I mean put yourself in his shoes and say that you'd act cool and smart which I really doubt. Takemichi is a well written character.

It might seem strange if you've never experience or even been near gangs, but yes a lot of gangs start recruitment early. It actually a common method to use middle and high school kids. They can be look outs, dealers, etc and due to their young age they get smaller sentences than the adults. Violence is very common as it a easy way of lower structures.

You’ll find out more about the time travel more, the thing with Tokyo revengers in my opinion, is that 1. the manga is better even tho they’re adapting it good 2. The story gets better as it goes on so I think the beginning is the weakest part but also the mangaka was supposedly in a gang before, we don’t know for sure but in a interview he did say he was a delinquent when he was younger

I rage quit this show just by how they don’t even develop the main character; I’ve read the manga and even then the mc doesn’t improve; at least midoriya can knock people out even tho he cries; jeez dude the same thing with jujitsu kaisen always gojo or somebody needs to help itadori out; the old days were better goku;luffy;naruto;yuske; frikin legendary characters who don’t always need side characters to help them

Cos the whole point of the show is that Takemichi sucks at fighting and yet everybody respects him because he's the only one who knows everyone's terrible fate and thus is willing to do stuff that make other people amazed. The main focus of the show is the storyline and not people fighting with crazy powers. Its actually good to have a mc who doesn't just get a crazy power up which is so cliche. Making the mc "powerful" doesn't equate to character development and if it does for you then stick to DBZ or something.

@@ksachith4739 What about JJK? You expect Itadori to beat every single villain when he doesn't even know shit about jujutsu sorcery as he used to live a life as a normal teenager. The author himself wanted Sukuna and Gojo to be the strongest so that the power scaling is well defined and doesn't become messy like Naruto. SPOILERS but anyways Gojo is sealed in the JJK manga so Yuuji, Megumi are all out on their own.
