I see comments criticizing your Japanese pronunciation or urging you to do more research before visiting, but don't worry about that at all! The reason I enjoy watching your vlog is exactly because of your travel style; it's not simply consuming items heavily researched on the internet before visiting. It's so much fun to see you just dive into a place, walk around parts unknown, and experience the surprises and excitement of discovering stuff you never expected. I'm Japanese, and we know the pronunciation of those Roman letters is too confusing. Nobody thinks you're being disrespectful just because you can't pronounce those names perfectly. It's rather cute, actually 😂

It was a bit early to enjoy sakura blossoms in Japan. This year, their blooming was about 5 days later than the average year. You're lucky to see one tree almost fully blossomed. Hopefully, you'll come back and enjoy many sakura trees in full bloom next year. By the way, you don't need to worry about your Japanese pronunciation or your vlog style. I'm Japanese, but I know it's difficult for foreigners to pronounce Japanese, just as English is difficult for us. And I like your vlog style of exploring towns and dropping in anywhere you're curious about. Tourists don't necessarily have to go to the most famous places or eat the most popular food. Everyone has their own way of enjoying things.

While I’m not in Japan this time, I’ll settle for the yearly cherry blossom festival at Branch brook in New Jersey. Last time I went, there were dances, flower arrangements, food stalls and arts. The best was the cherry trees on peak bloom, all pink and white trees. For now, Sakura festival in Japan is on my bucket list.. soon 😉

You want to make sure that 'bad fortune' doesn't become a self-fulfilling prophecy. That's BS anyway but I can understand why it could be bothersome. "Expectations for ourselves influence outcomes."

I did not learn anything from your videos either. There are plenty of other channels that are much more informative. Zane’s videos are just very entertaining. Lovely to see him getting lost in a new world without much preparation. That’s his style. Oh, and Ueno is NOT pronounced ooh-eh-no.
@mimii30009 ай бұрын
@@richardpels7022 Uh yes it is. I live in Hawaii and there are a lot of Japanese words that we use in everyday life that I learned as a kid because of a lot of Japanese immigrants that came here to work in the plantation fields. Words such as benjo, sukoshi, habuteru, omiyage, musubi, shoyu, tako, Jan Ken Po, Urusai among some. Japanese words have become a part of Hawaii culture for decades. So I knew how to pronounce Japanese words even before I took a Japanese language class. My dad taught me how to say Arigato when I was a child. I don't speak fluent Japanese but I can pick up on certain words. I've even eaten Japanese foods as a kid not really knowing it was Japanese food until I got older because it's become a part of my Hawaii culture growing up. Japanese influence in Hawaii is very strong.

Good videos overall... but please try to pronounce theses names correctly.. Do some research beforehand. I think it's the least you can do to show some respect.

Why? Japanese tourists don’t do any “research” and perfect their pronunciation before they travel either.
@PlanetDashing9 ай бұрын
Disagree. I don't think he is showing disrespect. He's an American. It's not necessarily easy to pronounce another language especially Japanese. You can't expect someone to be perfect at everything.
