I’ve bought one of your storefront books, last year in 2023. I’m glad to have stumbled on your first Tokyo Storefront video. I’ll be watching the entire series. I need a break from all the YT drama😅😊❤

This video is about 2 years old now, but in case you still didn't know, the conversion of old buildings to new functions is architecturally termed as adaptive reuse, which is under heritage conservation. I am also an admirer of heritage buildings, and I'm glad you are too ♡

Hey Mateusz! I'm interesting in purchasing your artwork on Society6 but have a question first - what does the japanese wording on the photo say? Thanks!
@JanineA8 жыл бұрын
Super love your art!
@mattjabbar8 жыл бұрын
+Janine The answer is no, but when you do start from the brightest parts it's really much easier. The dark colours when painted over will bleed (a lot sometimes) so it's impossible do achieve some effects this way. If you just paint like me (colouring in basically) then it is possible. It's best to experiment and see for yourself. Paint the same thing twice and check ;)

hello!! i was wondering if youve tried holbein bc its more common in japan? any reason you use schmincke instead? lovely videos as always!
@mattjabbar7 жыл бұрын
I have and use it for general sketching. It's the paint that Hayao Miyazaki uses ;) I just like the intensity and balance of the Schmincke sets. Also the artist's version should be lightfast for longer time.

@mattjabbar8 жыл бұрын
On jest średniej klasy, 12 kart F6 kosztuje tutaj ok 4000Y czyli jakieś 140PLN, taki Arches to dużo więcej kasy.
@Icecold_Art8 жыл бұрын
Dziekuje :)

Mateusz Urbanowicz awesome work.. could you recommend some study materials for beginners to try and learn at home
@mattjabbar7 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I don't use any learning books. I recommend just buying books of the artists you like and study them deeply. I have art-books of studio Ghibli and Makoto Shinkai movies, Hayao Miyazaki Books and comics and Oga Kazuo's books for example. This is a frequent question, I will have to do a page about this some time.

Alright thank you for recommendation, will check them out!
