What is the general plot of this game? (Without spoilers please)

@@MrSasukeSusanoo If you've played persona 3 then its kinda like that. You investigate an abnormal phenomenon, like tartarus, that causes monsters to appear in the world. The story is pretty boring if you ask me. It's overdramatic. Ending is not even good too with all that magic bull****. The same thing happens when meeting new characters for your party. They get dramatic and you help them. Even the protagonist is overdramatic. Except for that one badass kid. Takahata I think is his name. I recommend you play some better jrps. Dont waste your time like i did playing this game. Of course, this is just my opinion and many people would disagree with me.

@@gallantsteel8542 Actually I disagree with the whole "boring" part. As a fan of stories that take place in urban city-scapes, wandering around Morimiya as the cool and swave Kou, meeting people and solving issues with them in regards to the "Eclipse" was really engaging and fun. :D Each character has memorable and likable personalities (my personal favorite being "glasses") and by the end, they feel like old friends. They grow with you. :') ex+ adds a little extra to the after story, which I was personally okay with, but I can see why if some didn't like it. Lol All in all, Tokyo Xanadu is worth the time if you like that type of stuff. :3

@@tailedgates9 If you like being close to a ficitional character or you want to be emotionally attached to a character, go play some visual novels. It does the job a lot better. To me, its not a good a good single player game if it does not elicit emotions from you and this game didnt really elicit much. Gameplay was repetitive too. Bosses were repetitive too. Characters were repetitive. The way they build up the characters were repetitive (Drama + you save them from some dungeon + some bonding time for about less than five minuites which visual novels do the job a lot better since you actually talk to the character for longer than five minutes and sometimes, for hours and there are h scenes too :) ). It feels like the game forces the buildup of character on you. To me The main selling point of a singleplayer game is its gameplay and its story. The characters come second but the characters are still important. It's just that I dont play single player games solely to know other memorable fictional characters. Like I said before, those kinds of things are what visual novels specialize in.

@@gallantsteel8542 The gameplay IS repetitive, especially when you're exploring different dungeons in the eclipse. Especially since they recycle dungeons. But I guess so desensitized into it all that it didn't really bother me. Lol I see what you mean with the forced character growth, but it didn't seem transparent or rushed to me. Not giving away spoilers, but by the end, the reveal as to why Kou does so many jobs on a daily basis was actually heart wrenching and sad. It was a subtle reveal, honestly.

This track is pure bliss. Epic, soothing, and pumping all at the same time.

You would think the Eclipse would get repetitive, but this game is just extremely fun.

The Boundary of Death... the final dungeon of Tokyo Xanadu's updated re-release on home consoles _and_ the toughest one in the game. Seriously, even the final NG+ dungeon is easier than this place...
