I went on a night hike on mt takao last year. Looking over the largest city in the world from a quiet mountaintop is my kind of vibe. I did miss out on the snacks though... If you do go at night: bring a headlight.

What a wonderful day trip to enjoy! Takao san is definitely on my list. Way to go Patricia on braving the cable car ride down for the team! Overall, this looks like a fun adventure to enjoy the scenic view. Thank you for the video!

The corn soup is awesome. I like the brand that is more like a metal bottle with a screw cap. Much easier to get every morsel of corn.

Must. Not. Waste. Corn.

I was there literally 2 weeks ago on a Sunday and spent the night at a cute Bungalow within the area for one night just 500m from the station and had dinner in TakaOne Dining, a cute restaurant across the station -- it was a Fun Short getaway from City Center indeed... love it...!!!

I visited Mt. Takao several times to watch Musasabi (Japanese giant flying squirrels). They were so cool.

I'm currently in an airbnb three minutes from shin-okubo station. Two days ago we spent time in koenji, at the end of the night i saw a bit of the meteor shower. Today we spent the entire day in kamakura. We got a great view of the sunset and mount fuji, and even witnessed a lady get attacked by a hawk and I let her use my first aid kit. While walking back to the train station, the full moon looked absolutely humongous thanks to an illusion that occurs when it rises from the horizon, the moon was also completely orange! Was wondering what we would do for tomorrow or the day after. I think this video answers that!! Thank you for your hard work

Dang, didn't know the Dango came in miso flavor. I discovered I'm not a fan of the soy sauce version, so I'll have to give it a try next time!

Tip: I just went and there was a massive line to buy tickets for the chair lift, but I read the sign and you can pay for the chair lift right before getting on with a Visa card that can tap, so I just skipped the line and went directly to the chair lift, tapped my card ,and got on.
@tokyocheapoАй бұрын
Great tip for everyone

Is the trail alternative to the chairlift/cable car doable for beginners?
@tokyocheapoАй бұрын
The trail is well paved, but the inclines may be tiring after a while. The most beginner friendly option is definitely to take the cable car up halfway and then walk the rest

A lot of smog over Tokyo from that viewpoint you looked back at Tokyo from wouldn't have expected it with all the electric trains but perhaps there is a lot of fossil burning cars.
