Driving my R34 GTR For The First Time In 5 Years! | GTR Restoration Ep.2

Work on the R34 GT-R has started, first off had to get it some temporary “karinamba” slash plates so I can legally move it around and then fit the fresh set of 19-inch Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD09 tires over at Sun Beam. Next up was a trip to ADVANCE in Yokohama to assess the work that needs to be done over the next few months. Had to end things for this second episode with a quick wash so the soon to be removed wrap can at least look semi-shiny… Make sure you check back soon for another update on the road to getting it ready for its dyno session! Wonder how much power and torque we can get out of it?!

I love the way your shots emphasise the Bayside Blue peeking out from that green. Couldn't believe it when you wrapped it in God-aweful Green.... That blue is simply the most perfect colour for the R34.

The stainless steel rear diffuser replacement brackets you are seeking are manufactured by 2 different shops; 1) Midori Seibi 2) Garage Yoshida. Both versions are made of stainless steel and I believe black powder coated on top. We met during Tokyo Auto Salon week when you and Larry Chen came out and joined our 5 bayside blue R34 GTRs for a quick night drive. I enjoyed these R34 revival videos and I’m looking forward to more R34 upgrade/restoration videos 👍

Re: Brake master cylinder, get a new assembly. Dont just change the seals, the bore (aluminium) gets worn too. Great car you have there! Looking forward to the other videos. Cheers!

the brake switch on the pedal can open and clean the contacts. easy fix with some sand paper. inside it is really simple it just continuity of 12vots when the pedal is mashed

Beautiful GT-R 34. Love the metallic green wrap there very unique body color from the usual white, black, purple, blue, black. If the headlight could be added with a layer of Yellow adhesive lighting protection film that will add some aesthetic to the whole look. But I am not sure if that's allowable on Japan roads.

Nice. When I bought my Autechversion the brake pistons were seizing slightly in the calipers. Had to get them blasted to resolve it. PS do you know of a tuning shop called WAIS racing? Possibly closed now….. they tuned the itb’s on my import.

Hi Dino, I have a question to ask about how strict Japan is when it comes to car inspections, what are the things does the inspector look in the car in order to pass it and make it road legal? Also, what about those tuned cars that has a semi- gutted interior with bolt-on roll cages how does shaken inspectors manage to pass those cars? By the way its nice to see your 34 again being driven in the streets.

Glad to see the R34! One question, Is the shaken a hard test for modified cars? Here in Spain is a hell, you'll need to do tons of paperwork and you'll need an homologation to make a mildly modified car road legal.
