There's nothing remotely similar to Spanish churches and cathedrals ... the historical, aesthetic and artistic richness of its interiors is unique and unmatched and the most incredible thing is how it has been able to preserve all this immense artistic wealth that no longer exists in any other place of Europe ... a very clear example are the elaborate and majestic Spanish altarpieces,unique in the world for their enormous size, their ornamental richness and their theatricality...like this one in Toledo,the second largest Gothic altarpiece in the world after the main altarpiece of the Cathedral of Seville...You don't need to be a believer to appreciate the beauty of these artistic wonders. What an amazing people of an age when they revered the heavens. Living with very little technology and money they built these amazing Cathedrals so the common man could find the narrow path to heaven. Today the rich pay big money for post modern art created over the weekend with a case of Bud Light. And the big trick is when a new multi million dollar movie comes out the actors are called Stars to make you think heaven is only on earth called Utopia.

A most fitting monument to perhaps the greatest European queen whoever lived- HAIL Queen Isabella and her warrior husband Ferdinand those wood carvings inside are a priceless and ONLY evidence that remains of the grueling and bloody ten year campaign to save Europe and Christianity itself from in infidel evil Turkish hordes who enslaved and murdered countless lives . Supreme blessing Spain was mostly neutral during WW2 this cathedral was untouched by bombs and artillery . The beauty and craftsmanship harkens from a supreme distant age full of indescribable beauty. We moderns have lost ourselves and our souls the Medievalist in me weeps in awe and disbelief thankful that Queen Isabella and husband Ferdinand saved all of Europe from a most destructive and barbaric enemy - the Ottoman Empire and the Turks . 👑👑🥲🌍🌎
