“Joy does not come from obedience [not my performance], but joy comes from God’s performance! And that joy from God’s perfect impeccable performance, that joy is what energizes our obedience!” AMENNNNNNN!!!! I love this so much!! Joy comes from being in God's presence, sensing Him and also as a fruit of the Holy Spirit! I enter into worship, focusing upon Him, not my problems or difficulties, then I open to Him and sense His joy in my heart and soul and SPIRIT!

Jesus is infinitely beautiful and excellent! ☺️😁😭. I listened to Paul’s sermons and got new birth 5 years ago. My whole life changed and it’s all because of Jesus’ unconditional love for sinners. I started to share Christ everywhere around Cape Town in South Africa and I am so thankful for His grace. Satan lies to us about how amazing Jesus truly is. If we knew how great Jesus is, how kind, tender and just and merciful we would die a thousand deaths for Him. He is worthy!

When I consider the pure joy of knowing Him, when I realise His greatness and Majesty in creation, when I realise how much He loves me, when I know He holds me when I fall, when I know He guides me. I know REAL joy, real comfort, real peace, real hope, real love. My heart weeps for those lost souls who don't have this. The Light of Christ deep within those who believe in Him is the greatest gift a person can have. It's free for all who seek. Wow!❤️

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but I have been through fire, trials and suffering, and Satan has attacked our family. But I can testify that Jesus’ joy, not my own, His love and joy and peace and strength are real and He gives these when we need it. But we need to believe Him for it and have faith, absolute confidence in Him. That’s when the power of God is most clearly displayed. He can do all things even when everyone around you tells you otherwise and that a situation is hopeless. He brings new life and compassion every morning! 😄🌝🥳🥳🥳

I really love bro Paul, but he scares me sometimes...🥺 Don't get me wrong, I believe what he preaches, he applies the appropriate force needed to the point he is making, it's just that very few preachers take God's Word as seriously as he does. And I truly appreciate him for that.
@marylamb60632 жыл бұрын
Fear is not of God. The one who fears is not perfected in the love of God. Paul Washer is not perfected in God's love. God did not give us a spirit of fear. Why why is Washer preaching fear? Because he is not perfected in the love of God.
@marylamb60632 жыл бұрын
@@soohapark6215 Yare can mean fear, but it can also mean honor: "On that day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; so that they revered (yare) him, just as they had revered (yare) Moses all the days of his life." Surely the Israelites weren't afraid of Moses. They respected him as well as Joshua. The ancient Hebrew is filled with words that can mean so many different things, just like the English language.

It's so hard for me not to put my faith in my performance, my efforts to maintain my relationship with God, how much or how little I do for God. Ultimately I know God has done it all and won the battle. But I can't NOT focus on the things I mentioned. I can't not focus on how I constantly fall short. I always feel bad to a degree. I'm worried if I think how I don't have to earn anything or do anything for God, I won't do anything at all.

Amen! The joy of the Lord is our strength! Nehemiah 8:9-12 "And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law." "Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength." "So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved." "And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them."

I have been searching and searching for this kind of content. I have been puzzled for a long time recognizing that the methodology of the world…(essentially advertising through fear, uncertainty and doubt) seems to be very similar to what I hear coming from the Christian teaching community today. The way of the Lord stands counter to the ways of the world. I know this and read about it in scripture. Why so much today about how things are just gonna get worse so hang on? Nobody knows this, things may get better. If this isn’t true how did mankind ever make it out of the dark ages? I do not find inspiration in the tactics of fear and prognostication of Armageddon in our midst. I’m just not that crazy though many would suspect me of just not being very spiritually mature. Seems to me instilling fear is exactly what the evil one would want to happen to Christians. Joy is a much better motivation and I think you’ve helped us see this. When I consider that my heart beats and each breath is a manifestation of God’s power and a gift of grace I know that I cannot make even this very basic and essential thing happen. I see then how can I make any truly good thing happen through my obedience? Of course I want to walk in step with Jesus, knowing who he is and what he is doing why wouldn’t I? It is crazy not to want to be like Jesus once you get a glimmer of his majesty, love, kindness and his great help to us for truly living not just hanging on. This is a great and powerful attraction not my ability to be good, that perception just separates people from me it does not draw others to Christ and so is idolizing self. Thank you for helping me see this. It’s so very easy to slide into the pit of self.

This first week of Advent I was struck by the translation that "the joy OF the Lord is our strength." (Not our joy IN the Lord) If we gather for worship as a feel-good fest; we expect God will make us joyful. What if we even glimpse the joy of the Lord; His rejoicing over the creation, us, the future?

Joy is a direct by-product of contentment! Yet, contentment is a learned aspect in the abiding in Christ. Philippians 4:11-13. 1 Timothy 6:6 says this: But godliness when accompanied by contentment is a means of great gain. That great gain spoken of Here is Joy! The greatest example of this dynamic is pictured in the account of Paul & Silas shackled to the floor of a dungeonesk room beneath a Philippian Jail. ( The Middle ). Then they were directly beneath a hole in the floor above themselves that served as the toilet for all of the inmates incarcerated there. I can't even imagine a worse place on this earth. Yet joy is not determined or effected by circumstance, unlike happiness. I can't imagine Paul or Silas being happy in that place. Yet, the joy they possessed in Christ caused them to break out in song and worship of the One that allowed them to be there in the first place. They were very much content with where God had them and their Joy overflowed to the whole Jail and the families of those there! For everyone got saved including their households! Hallelujah what a Lord and Savior we serve!
