This black man knows that it was your church which authorised the enslavement of my people. Your Church originated the doctrine of discovery which authorised Portuguese Spanish and other European mariners which brought the holocaust of euro terrorism to the world of the melanated people! Your Church subjected my ancestors, the black Jews of Spain and Portugal to the torture of the devilish and brutal Inquisition It was your Church which commanded mine and other people not to obey the laws handed down to my ancestors from Yah Alohim of Yashar'al (Israel) Anyone doing 'Jewish' things will be anathema from your Christ! My ancestors refused and so were burnt at the stake! So, keep your church, its God, your Christ and all his doctrines and images. The torah of my ancestors and Yahusha the Mashiach who was sent only to the lost sheep of Yashar'al, is sufficient for me!

1565: St. Augustine, Florida Blacks, both slave and free, help to found this oldest town in the United States. In 1693 Spain offers freedom in Florida to slaves who convert to Catholicism. Until 1763, these freed slaves lived in a community northeast of St. Augustine. Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose, or Fort Mose, established in 1738, thus becomes the first free black town in the United States.

This is a beautiful story. There were a few contradictions though. It said at first that he was not going to school because there were no programs for assimilation. Then after it stated that he had been in school but left because of racism. Maybe I am missing something there. Anyway, I am glad that he answered the call and hope that he will soon be canonized.
@Powerranger-le4up3 жыл бұрын
I’ve read the biography of Father Tolton. It wasn’t contradicted. What happened was that a priest named Father Schaffemeyer let Augustus into his school. The priest and nuns were kind to him, but it was a different story with the other students and their parents. They were so hateful to him that the nuns had to keep Augustus after school to protect him from the bullying. His mother pulled him out of that school after a month. So for a while, he was working to support his family instead of going to school.
@CatholicK53573 жыл бұрын
@@Powerranger-le4up Yes I understand that. The contradiction I pointed out has to do with how it was first mentioned that there was no assimilation program for them to fit in and go to school, but then it said he was in school and left. My point is that it seems there was an attempt at assimilating, but that prejudice and other factors interfered with it. I'm very happy of his story getting promoted. I just am someone who believes that the way things are worded is very important to avoid misunderstandings.

What was in his control was the "...content of his character..."; his character was "holy" [that which is set aside fir sacrifice]; it was his set aside fir the purposes of G_d that made him holy. It is his holiness that should mark him for canonization.
