Exactly. I love this episode for Exactly that reason on when the duck was about to go into the pot tom intervened right away and stopped quacker showing tom really did have a change of heart for quacker in this episode

How I honestly see it for this episode is both jerry and Tom won this episode For jerry quacker didn't get eaten that jerry was saving him from in the first place And For tom. Tom captured jerry

There's a Looney Tunes cartoon called A Mouse Divided where a drunk stork delivers a baby mouse to Sylvester and his wife. Sylvester wants to eat the mouse but his wife won't let him because it's their baby.

Tom most definitely deserved this win in this episode. I loved how towards the end of the episode before the baby duck jumped in the pot tom had a change of heart for the baby
