I live in a small town in Scotland, with a population of 55,000. Over the last 6 years, the town has absorbed over 5000 immigrants. There are no homes for rent, anywhere in a 5-mile radius of our town. ZERO!! My daughter teaches at primary school, her class has 7 immigrant kids from Africa, they have a full-time interpreter, and the kids are insane - badly behaved, and every week she goes home in tears. She is 7 months pregnant and last week one of the kids pushed her over her desk, a boy that looks at bout 16 but claims to be 12. She reported the boy and they did nothing, they never do, they don't know what to do, and they are tied up in knots by woke administrators. She keeps telling the authorities she cannot give the Scottish kids the attention they need and it affects ALL the kids. She going to go off long-term sick after she's had the baby, she's not going back, and it's a real shame because she is an amazing teacher. it will be a big loss for the school. Her husband is a local Policeman, the issues with the young gangs of African lads are off the scale, they simply cannot keep up with the numbers, not enough social workers, not enough Police, and not enough because they were never structured to cope with such a dramatic demographic shift......and yes, every single person is terrified to complain out of fear of being labelled a racist. They encourage ANY incident that is against any non-white to be registered as a hate crime, not just a crime. A 15-year-old black lad recently smashed the face of an 11-year-old girl in her school, the girl's older brother (16) took it into his own hands and is being prosecuted for a "hate crime" and is looking at being locked up for over 2 years. The black kid wasn't even charged, despite the little girl losing 7 teeth. Everyone is fucking terrified of being labelled so they get away with it again and again. Our town was NEVER like this, it's a fucking mess, nobody asked for it, nobody was told it was going to happen, even my doctor's surgery has security on a Friday when they do the immigrants clinic...... its madness, utter madness what they're doing to the country. And they sit and scratch their dipshit heads wondering why the far right is growing like a train across Europe!! The UK does not have a far-right but, Jesus, if one steps forward they'll do bloody well.

What we need to do is take all the beautiful values and principles that religion has and build society around them, but without forcing one to believe in a higher being. For instance, the constant fight against the 7 deadily sins, the devil being a metaphor for that inner voice that whispers to give into your lower self, discipline, routinely attending social gatherings that instill principles of good virtue, help thy neighbor, etc etc. Without a proper leader or guidance, we're just working to no end and the mass majority have replaced God with aiming towards materialistic possessions and they only really look out for themselves.

"We are rapidly approaching an era where people vs government becomes a worldwide phenomenon." ~ John McAfee
@limitisillusion79 ай бұрын
That's fallacious from the start. The government is made up of people. "Government" is just a formal word that describes an organization of humans. The problem isn't government, the problem is a lack of organization. If you want to solve the chaos, you have to dissolve the compartmentalization of divided groups, whether it be people/government, left/right, black/white, liberal/conservative, etc. There is one true divide between humans and it is that which keeps humans from meeting their needs... it is the class divide. When needs aren't met the chaos ensues, whether it be war, sickness, famine etc. But if you condemn the rich, they get fearful because safety is a need itself, and every time you point a finger you diminish perceived safety. Wealthy people must be willing to cease their greedy behaviors while poor people cease the condemnation of the wealthy. A mindset of abundance is necessary, otherwise we remain in a scarcity mindset which drives fear and greed. The only solution is forgiveness and congress. Diversity is a strength, but only if we accept each other. Homogeneity is stagnation, and lack of acceptance of diversity is chaos. There is only one option: We must accept each other's differences. Peterson is right, people must choose to run uphill, not only for others, but for the stability of their own future. There are both selfish and selfless aspects to this pathway. "And the men who hold high places must be the ones who start to mold a new reality, closer to the heart."

I take my son to breakfast at Ihop in Birmingham Alabama and the family in front of me are being sat at a table and no one speaks english, but thats ok, because the waitress does not speak english either. She starts to seat us but realized that we don't speak spanish. She calls to the bilingual waitress to help seat us. Then an english speaking guy finally comes to be our waiter. That's a very Tolkienist perspective of the world: Tolkien's vision of how small deeds can impact the outcome of history is deeply rooted in his concept of "eucatastrophe" and the theme of the "unexpected hero." His vision highlights the idea that even the most seemingly insignificant actions can have profound implications for the course of history, reinforcing the notion that every individual has the potential to be a hero in their own right.

Seizing power only creates more tyrants, but the non-glamorous attributes of courage, loyalty, and especially humble and self-sacrificial selflessness is what overthrows them. Of course it must be said that the euchatastrophe was aided by the fact that "there was something else at work." Bilbo was constantly aided by "luck of an unusual kind." That also is a thread that runs all through Tolkien.

Because by his very own standards he would have said in the Cold War that we were already in WW3, which we are all glad never happened. At best it's really the equivalent of insisting that WW2 began in 1931 with the invasion of China by Japan. However, that is far from arguing that a world wide war was inevitable from 1931, which is what Peterson is doing. I still like him but it's not a rational remark and the implication is to appease Putin, China, and others, which will be, if anything, a trigger for WW3. As well as being in itself immoral.

I started creating order in my life 6 years ago by breaking down my problems into smaller more manageable problems and got to work on them one at a time. In a year I had a new job and a girlfriend. After two years I had a better job and started to share what I learned with family and friends. At the 5 year mark my life is positively different in every way, and a direct result of taking responsibility for myself, focussing on what's truly important, and picking up my cross. It sounds like a fairy tale but it's not. The thing that we need most is hidden in the darkest part of the forest. Don't be afraid to find it.
