A few things: 1st Brady is not the GOAT, he has never blown out any team, unlike Montana. 2nd. Everybody saw Brady's arm deteriorate in the 2012 and 2013, but get fine in 2015. Drug use. And I have asked 3 doctors about it. They all say: "he's juicing on something." 3. He understood the importance of a great defense. 2018 Superbowl ring a bell? 4. When Payton went to the Broncos, Manning dominated Brady every single time. And Manning was the first QB to win Superbowls with different teams before Brady. I understand why Bill Belichick wanted to trade Brady and start Jimmy G at the time, and understand why, he was using the old "Bill Walsh Rules" "Trade them in their prime!" 5. Montana will always be the GOAT because he destroyed his rivals in Championship games and Superbowls, and the rules allowed the Defense to commit aggravated assault on the QBs in Montana's days, sincerely. Don't believe me, watch old film on guys like Lawrence Taylor, Charles Mann, Dexter Manning, Bruce Smith, Reggie White, and Wilber Marshall.

Nice video and all of it is correct. I like the REAL GOAT scoring system which compares how much better a quarterback is than the average quarterback of their era. The most important category in that system is longevity and still if you take out the team categories and just count his personal stats he ranks in the mid teens in the GOAT rankings. Rodgers ranks somewhere between 5 and 7 depending on how much his score changes during the 2022 season. When you use the REAL GOAT system which compares a quarterback against the average quarterback of his era and is the most comprehensive analysis of a quarterback's career ever created, the top 7 GOATs are Brady #6 or 7, Y. A. Tittle #5 or 6, Johnny Unitas #4, Drew Brees #3, Peyton Manning #2 and the REAL GOAT is Fran Tarkenton.
@thetannernation8 ай бұрын
That’s very interesting. I could very easily see some metrics pointing toward Tarkenton. What’s the name of this “real goat scoring system”? Like, is it a stat or a metric?
@bryanjones44448 ай бұрын
It has 16 different categories and most are first compared to the average quarterback of that era. You find out how far above average each of the quarterbacks are by percentage and then set up a sliding scale from top to bottom in each category. The points awarded in each category are determined by the importance of that statistic. All of the normal things are taken into consideration like touchdowns, yards, quarterback rating, interceptions etc. but also categories like the percentage of the offense carried by the quarterback, propensity to fumble, strength of schedule, time of possession and 4th quarter comebacks. Then a longevity multiplier is calculated and you come up with a final score. The average quarterback from any era scores 258.5. The 34 quarterbacks that have been analyzed include all the Hall of Famers that started a career after 1947 and all the recent retirees that have a shot at the Hall plus some active stars that have a shot. The scores of those players range from 237.8 to Tarkenton at 716.7. For my money you need a score of 400 to be a legit Hall of Famer. @@thetannernation

Tom Brady is essentially the John elway of his era except with far more success. The most naturally talented QB ever is Marino. Best SB QB is Montana/Bradshaw. Best regular season QB is Peyton Manning. Tom is the most accomplished in terms of rings. The reason why I chose elway as a comparison is he changed the culture of the Broncos similar to what Brady did in NE. For what's it's worth I think without Brady the pats would have no rings today.

Great video. What you didn't mention is, Robert Horry, is not being called the greatest player of all time, he's not even in the conversation. The only reason he would be a hall-of-famer is because of those rings and clutch shots, most of which you played. I will give Brady credit in the fact he is a great leader. IMO that does mean a lot in football or any team sport. But as your video shows, any average competent QB, who could instill leadership and confidence, could have lead most of those Patriots' teams to SBs. An elite QB, such as Peyton Manning who Brady is called better than by many, probably could have won more. I usually shut down the Brady argument (more rings) the same way you did, - "so you're telling me, Eli Manning is better than . . . " (fill in the blank). Or if they say "Brady is 11-6 (or whatever) head to head with Peyton, so Brady is better". I answer "So you admit Eli is better than Brady because he's 2-0 vs Brady in Super Bowls." The team(!!) that should have won those matchups won with one exception . . . . the last one, where they Patriots were probably a better team than the Broncos, but the Broncos won. Their argument is defeated and most know it. Although there's always this one guy. LOL

Tom Brady is the definite GOAT. He went to 10 SBs and won 7. Mahomes can never be the GOAT because he was beaten by the GOAT in the SB. Brady appeared in 10 and won 7. There is no denying that he is the GOAT. Joe was great he won 4 SBs in 6 years and is 4-0 in the SB. But....he only appeared in 4 SBs and not in 10 SBs and he has 3 less SB wins than Brady does so he is not the GOAT. Is he great? Sure he was....but he wasn't even the original GOAT. Terry Bradshaw went to 4 Super Bowls in 6 years and won them all. Bradshaw is 4-0 in the Super Bowl in 6 years exactly like Joe would do after him. So Montana is tied with Bradshaw and Bradshaw did it before Joe and in an era that was even more brutal than the one Joe was in. Bradshaw did it in a more brutal era when there were far less teams and that made it even tougher because you had to play the same teams all the time and it made it tougher to win. So Really, Brady because of the number of championships appeared in and the number one far exceeds the others. Then it would be a tie between Bradshaw and Montana with Bradshaw having the edge due to the reasons mentioned. Mahomes isn't even in the debate but if he ever is he would still be trumped by Brady because he lost an AFC championship to Brady and he lost a SB to Brady. So he can't ever be the GOAT because he got spanked by the GOAT and that SB he lost to the GOAT along with the AFC Championship he lost to the GOAT remove him from any type of GOAT status. Mahomes was neutered by the GOAT and therefore he can never be the GOAT. LOL

LOL Rings do the talking stats are what don't mean a thing. I mean look at Dak Prescott. Best stats during the season and looks very impressive but then gets beat by winning teams so you wonder why until you look at where those stats are coming from. It's easy to pile up yards and points and sacks and everything else against teams that are like 2-15 on the season lol gives you a false sense of superiority it gives your fans a false sense of how good you really are but then you play a good team and get blown out of the water at home lol That's no fluke that's because you suck in reality. So you can have all the nunbers and stats and whatever that you want but no one is going to remember that. That's why they don't remember Marino. What they do remember is the guy wearing 7 rings and has more than anyone else and did it with 2 different franchises and a revolving list of supporting players throughout the years. That means that you're the GOAT and to be quite frank. Anyone arguing against that at this point is an idiot. LOL@@thetannernation

Winning championships is what it's all about. That's why they play the season, that's why they have the playoffs. That's why they have the big SB spectacle. Winnin the championship is what it's all about and no one gives a damn about how little interceptions you threw or how many yards you passed for or how many sacks you got or how many yards you ran. No one gives a single, solitary @#$% about any of that and it doesn't matter at all, in any way, shape or form. It does not matter. In Baseball stats seem to matter, people put a lot of stock into it. In hockey they seem to matter because people put stock into it and even in basketball they seem to matter. But in football at the end of the day and really in any sport it is about winning the championship. That's the whol, entire point of it all. He who has the most rings is he who is the GOAT and you can like it or hate and you can say he isn't as good as so and so because so and so did something better but so and so doesn't have 7 championship rings so it doesn't matter what so and so did because so and so didn't show up when it counted. @@thetannernation
