The Herd with Colin Cowherd

Green Bay Packers' quarterback Aaron Rodgers may be out for 'revenge' against his team for their drafting choices, and Colin Cowherd doesn't blame him. Hear why Colin believes Rodgers has grounds to be upset with Green Bay. Plus, Tom Brady is heading to his 10th Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but took the time to acknowledge the role his former coach Bill Belichick played in his success while he lead the New England Patriots. Colin talks about Brady's success, and makes the point that the only thing Brady is competing against at this point in his career is time.

Memeing aside, Colin is spot on about everything he says in this video. Arod did get slapped in the face by the packers. Also, how many rivals has Tom gone through? The Manning Brothers, Mahomes, Ryan Fitzpatrick, The entire NFL... he doesn't care about any rivalries anymore. He just wants to cement his legacy.

I'm a big Rodgers fan, and I definitely hope he does. It's just easier to take a pay cut when your coach and gm is bill belichick who knows what to do with the money than when you have bryan guntecunt and gb management that has failed to make the right choices for the past...forever
@Coyote-wm5op
@Coyote-wm5op 3 жыл бұрын
@@frederickschulze8014 I wouldn’t say that. GB has gone after players much more aggressively than under Ted Thompson. The Smiths, Jones, and the two acquired during the playoffs I forget their names. Rodgers has leverage now and coming up short in two back to back NFC championship loses. Letting Mike Pettine go, and special teams coach go not even 2 weeks after. Look how long it took for them to let McCarthy and Dom Capers go.

His point about Brady 'never really needing us' is quite astute, actually. It's easy to say 'deflategate' and 'Cheatriots" and things like that, but is that really it? No, that stuff may compound the real issue, but they aren't the actual issue. The issue is that he's too successful and he can seemingly do it without our support. This same thing probably endears him to Tampa Bay, who probably feels, for the first time, that Tom Brady needed some help. Why did he go to Tampa? He needed to be surrounded by better players. He needed a place to land -- Tampa Bay was that place.

This is the same argument when the Sacramento kings were good and their window closed and people in the community were scared about being bad and never getting a team that would compete again. Dislike on Brady is waning. It was his association with the Pats. People don't like the region and Belichick. The press covered them negatively. People bought into the scandals, which were really nothing (people had to be told they were a big deal - Spygate dealt with violation of a camera safety memo and Deflategate about a specification that refs sloppily regulated and nobody really cared about prior). Of all the issue fans pay attentions to, with all the shady things going on in the league. Some will say the punishments reflected the crimes, with the punishments coming from a guy that no fan supports, unless he's going after the Pats. You could argue they are the cleanest program, just because all critical eyes are on them all the time.

The first three were Belichick. Brady learned under Bill. After the year that they almost went undefeated, Tom was on the same level as Bill. Now he has surpassed Bill. But never forget how much Bill helped and developed him.

Sports Media giving their "Darling" Aaron Rodgers Excuse after Excuse as usual...He had EVERYTHING in HIS Favor in NFC Championship game...MVP Season...13-3 record...At HOME in the COLD at LAMBEAU and against a FLORIDA based Team...STILL Failed...He only put up "10" points in First Half and putting Packers in a Big hole early...He also had "3" STRAIGHT chances to convert a TD on 1st down 2nd down 3rd down and FAILED and ended up 4th down and Goal from the 8 yard line...Sure receivers dropped a few balls but that happens during MOST games in the NFL...He also could only score "6" total Points off "3" Bucs turnovers...HE deserved just as MUCH blame as his Team...But as usual Sports Media gives him ZERO Blame...Rodgers had EVERYTHING in HIS favor and SHT THE BED "Again"...He has Talent but he just does not have that "Greatness" quality...He is a "Stats" player

I don't know that Green Bay is driven by FEAR. Green Bay was faced with the same problems other NFL teams faced during that era. Salary Cap issues that favored ROOKIE players getting a big pay day and experienced players unable to get a RAISE. Several years ago the NFL addressed that issue and created different contracts for rookie players than the huge contracts they received previously. Some teams are still pay QB's big money and back load their contracts to make them sound big when they are announced to the Public. Example: The Steelers would owe Big Ben 41.25 million if he was going to play the last year on his contract this coming season. Recently, Ben said he wants to play another season and doesn't care how much he gets paid. That's the only way its going to work. The CAP might very well be lower this coming season due to lost revenue created by the pandemic. We have CHINA to thank for that, even though they are LIARS and are trying to blame everyone else instead of looking in the mirror.
