Tyler he dodged every question lol did you watch the video. "Did you lie to Ramos?" "Yeah the Hawkeye wrestling club invented having tagalongs with coaches". Literally this guy thinks about nothing other than Gable,Hawkeye, and headgears and still gets his oil checked by Penn State every year.

Tough situation for the coaches for sure. I've been in a similar situation and the way I decided to handle it was I deferred the corners of both athletes to the wrestler's choices while I watched the match in the warm up area. Worst situation to be in as a coach, two beloved athletes competing for that one spot or title, and you are now forced to choose a side.

@@CreightonWrestling Maybe he's not. But you'd be surprised who's lurking around here and who actually posts from time to time. I don't have any clue if John Smith posts on here, but I know Kyle Snyder does and a few other athletes. And even if he's not John Smith...what he said is accurate.

John Wooden coached at UCLA for 27 year & didn't start winning until after the 16th year. The last 11 was winning NCAA titles. The first 16 was about treating every player the same. He felt he didn't start winning until he started treating the players based on how they deserved to be treated. Means if you practiced & played well, you played. Or if you adhered to the Pyramid of Success & were selfless, you played. Or if you had the talent & execution to win at that level, you played. It works that way in every competitive endeavor. There are more losers than winners - that means heartache. But in 10 years Tony will be better for it. Life is never fair. LOSING IS PART OF WINNING JUST LIKE DYING IS PART OF LIVING. They are inseparable. Coaching is a psychological profession. You have to treat each player according to what they can contribute to the program. That means inequality & judgment decisions by the program leaders. Colleges & universities are political organizations that cause their coaches & employees to battle against each other in order to save their jobs, EVERY DAY. All Tony has to realize is that he voluntarily gave his skills & effort for a 4 year degree & nothing more. Anything more is just setting himself up for heartache.

its a team of individuals based on individual achievement and that has to be hard to compartmentalize as a coach with so many baskets to put your eggs in and they all deserve it I don't feel good for anyone having to deal with personal professional relationships in the public eye

The brands brothers are all about winning but unfortunately they haven't done much of that lately, like any great coach who is at a top tier program and isn't getting it done they need to retire already because unless Sanderson quits which is highly unlikely they will always come n 2nd at best

Mr Brands Tony the tiger says you were to be in his corner and by the sounds of it he counted on you to be there, if so why did you betray him, is it you are a band wagon type and felt you wanted to be on a winners side, can you comment on this please

id like to comment again on all the recent wrestlers transferring out of Iowa I think this is a travesty and a shame on the program, these young adults go to 1 of the most toughest programs in college wrestling and give it there all and it seems from the outside looking in that the loyalty dept at Iowa doesn't exist anymore, Patrick Kennedy I love watching him wrestle he is the epitome of what Hawkeye wrestling is and just like that they bring someone else in, its crazy how you can recruit someone and tell them basically lies as far as I'm concerned now, hey your guy we want you we are going to build our program around you etc, it should be when your recruiting now tom and Terry hey your gonna be our guy unless someone else comes along better, I don't remember all these line up changes with gable, he made you better he wasn't changing line ups when people are seniors, very few people leave Penn and there's a reason for that and I think loyalty a word I thought tom and Terry knew lots about well sure doesn't seem that way, I didn't like glazier but to let him leave like that, and also you get temmer 1 of the laziest best wrestlers on the planet who just waits for his opens mistake the complete opposite of Iowa wrestling you get him to come to your team well that just screams desperation at this point best of luck and hopefully you guys aren't there much longer because as you clearly demonstrated there isn't any loyalty for the wrestlers there shouldn't be any for the coaches

It's about the team period. Iowa gives these guys scholarships pays for their big ten college education $75,000 at least at this time. Lots of young people can't afford that and ones take out student loans and stay in debt for 30 years paying it back plus interest. So fuck Tony Ramos with his little kid tantrum. Iowa deserves the best wrestlers they can get. Tony Ramos thinks Iowa owes him he owes Iowa
