I was there that night. The very next frame Ronnie’s opponent knocked the green in off the break and snookered him behind the brown. Ronnie knocked in a crazy brown to get on the black and eventually missed the ‘16th’ red for a 155!! His is pure genius!

You can’t comprehend how difficult it is to do that if you’ve never had a decent crack at snooker. A 60 break is very good but a 147 is just unbelievable. He makes it look easy as well. He’s the best that’s played the game without question.

@cerealkiller42488 ай бұрын
As an 80's boy, Steve Davis was my inspiration. When Stephen Hendry came along, i never liked him, but, when he won his 7th world title, even I couldn't ignore his genius anymore. Hendry won his titles when Davis, Ronnie, Higgins, Williams were around, and not just around but all at their best. So, no longer do I begrudge him tipping Davis off the top spot when he won his 7th, his greatness was undeniable. Now, Ronnie can beat you up like no one I've ever seen. The sheer speed he can win a fame is incredible, just like here, that 147 was so so fast, I dont think it'll be bettered by anyone for decades. As a Welshman, Mark Williams is my favourite, irs a pity he stopped practising in the 90's or he'd have a lot more titles. My colleague used to go to his club, Mark would be playing cards instead of snooker. Mark's style of play, the gentle tap of the cueball, effortlessly keeping position is a joy to watch, even Ronnie acknowledges his greatness. There are more people around today who can win a tournament at the start of the 1st round, but for me, the 90's were the pinnacle of snooker greatness.
@UncleASP7 ай бұрын
Ronnie, Higgins, Williams only turned pro in 92 and were still finding their feet. Ronnie may have won the UK in 93 but none of them were close to their best until late 90s when Hendry stopped winning so to say he won when they were at their peak is fallacy. 90s were also my favourite decade because of the characters rather than general standard, the general standard today is higher according to stats and opinion of pretty much every pro.

The cameraman, the 'official' one, who didn't film the frames, just 8 pictures of the 8 people who played the RoKit. He walked past whilst he was on for the max, which was the 2nd frame. Then it was me next, and he was on for the 155, jawed the last red. Gutted. I think if that , 2 b2b 147s alone would be filming history let alone a 155. And I'll mention again why this footage wasn't the best as I was nervous, as was playing next.

You pillocks havn’t got a clue have you?? He had to play the last black with running side to miss the pink and run up that side of the table, which is a club table and undoubtably slow, which is why he wasnt perfect on the yellow. He was still able to swing it round just enough to leave an awkward green with the rest, and still knocked it in for great position on the brown.
