@@ayla8345 essentially the guys he's yelling at were breaking covid protocol which, ignoring how bad spreading covid is anyway, would shut down filming for a couple of weeks. Tom Cruise is producing and bank rolling a lot of it so when that film shuts down people have to go home and can't work. And in a sense part of the industry is resting on his shoulders because if this movie costs a massive amount to make due to covid costs and shut downs then a lot of projects might not be greenlight due to studios seeing many films as having no feasible way of making their money back especially if it's not released in theatres.

Some people on set were not obeying Corona protocols. They already had to shut down filming once, which delayed some contracts, so some people didn't get paid.

Two crew members were standing too close together because they were looking at the same computer screen. He is just using them as a scapegoat for his anger. And while wearing mask and social distancing does reduce spread it doesn’t illuminate it entirely. Making movies and being near each other spreads it so I don’t know why he is freaking out on these people for something that was probably a simple mistake.

@@HB-zk5iw I think it’s cause there are peoples jobs at stake. Yeah it might not eliminate the threat, but it helps to social distance. So if the movie needs to continue because the staff needs to pay for food and bills and stuff then I get it. And to be fair there are a lot of people in the behind the scenes that don’t make much as it is. We tend to only think of the millionaire actors not getting paid but all the props people, clothing operators, thousands of people on that set aren’t getting paid because people wouldn’t listen. Honestly if I knew people under me weren’t getting paid for someone’s incompetence I’d yell like that too. Especially since it’s happened more than once. I usually don’t like tom cruise but I don’t think he was using them as an escape goat. No one takes it serious anymore, and people are still dying unfortunately. These people have kids to feed and provide for. To be fair, he said this has happened before. If my job depended on not doing something, I’d make sure not to. They had their masks off, it wasn’t just standing too close.

Never thought I’d agree with Tom Cruise, lol. Although I doubt specifically Mission Impossible 7 getting shut down would be the problem, it’s more the repercussions of any film of that size loosing a lot of money. The industry isn’t balancing on Tom Cruise’s shoulders but his failure would definitely hurt it. Film will of course recover but I understand being pissed about the current crisis. I probably would have reacted the same way honestly. I rarely get angry bc it’s the most exhausting emotion so when I do it’s a years worth of rage so I would 100% yell at ignorant people.
