The surf green strato is my favourite Tom's guitar, but in terms of hollowbodys, this is the one I like the most. The red colour, the stickers, everything, it's an hell of a punk guitar!

Yea surf green is by far the most important and iconic guitar of his. Never been a fan of the brown 333, ugly in my opinion. The red looks way better, there’s a reason that most 333/335 are red

Another sticker fact: on Tom’s second 335, the circular sticker is the logo for Orange County Drum & Percussion (OCDP). That was Travis’ drum endorsement for a very long time.

My favorite Tom guitar. Always has been. Saw BCR live and this one was his main guitar. It's essentially the prototype/gateway to him playing hollow bodies. Just like many signature guitars out there....the artist almost always starts with a modified stock version. So rad.

I saw Boxcar in Portland when they toured. Might have been in November of 02, but I had an awesome shot, front row, of Tom playing his 335. He was wearing his Atticus black polo shirt. I haven’t seen my picture in a while and might have got lost.

I just bought a 2011 satin finish 335. I actually ordered it 2 days before you put the black 333 with the orange stripe on reverb, otherwise I’d have for sure made an offer on it. The 335 is great. I think I’m going to unload a PRS and keep the 335

there's definitely a difference between a tone knob at ten and bypassing the tone knob altogether. any load will affect the sound of the pickup to some degree. but if someone wants the sound and doesn't want to sacrifice their tone knob, I recommend a no load tone pot.

I have an early ‘prototype’ Gibson Dirty Fingers without the gold lettering. It’s got the braided 2 core hookup wire where I think the production model has 4-core wire.

Just curious about the rumor of Tom getting his original 335's at Guitar Center in Nashville. That seems too random/specific to just be made up by someone, and it would be so cool if true because I live in Nashville and that's my local store I go to! Any recollection of where you originally heard/read that? I really enjoy the videos!

Loved the video! Just was wondering what the difference of the figured 335 would be, because I always thought he had a dot because the neck inlays were dots. When I look at figured ones it has the trapezoid inlays. Would really love to try and do a replica of this. Would be so awesome. Both my favourites Padre and Boxcar 335 :) Looking forward to your Padre video. I'm with Stefan a true Boxcar fan, helped me through a lot.

Thanks man!! I believe it was just the finish that was different. All hardware was the same. Padre is coming. Just need to get a bit more info on some of the things I heard

Any one know the difference between figured and not? I’m trying to build this guitar. I found one on reverb but it doesn’t say if it’s figured or not. I messaged the guy and he said they didn’t call them figured in 2001that true?

I saw Boxcar Racer Nov 10, 2002 at The Fillmore Detroit (then called the State Theatre). He had the 335 by that time, I’m not sure if that’s considered second leg or not. Whats crazy is by looking up these dates, I realized that BCR came to Detroit TWICE! And I saw them again Dec 17, 2002 for 89x Christmas. Totally forgot they were there but I was there, I remember seeing NFG and Good Charlotte on that same bill. Can’t believe I forgot about that!!
