Whats up Jason! Hey man I appreciate the kind words man, I really do. I stumbled across this back road a while ago but It was blocked off for a while. They just opened it a couple days ago and I took advantage. The video you see is actually the 3rd take. It was soo hot outside that by the end of my filming session it was approx 118F outside. My camera overheated twice 🤣. I’ve always been interested in film and photography and I used to tinker with film (not digital) back in the day. I do want to make a short film about fragrance, but I don’t know what direction I should take it. Im always looking for new places to film, so that I can keep it interesting for all of us. Again I appreciate this comment man. It really means a lot 🙂. I hope you are doing well and your family is well.

I got a sample of this & grey vetiver, it was the magic in the dry down that led me to buy a Beau de Jour full bottle. I wear that in the day & put on Geo F Trumper’ Sandalwood at night, they work so well together.

I was unmoved by Beau De Jour when I first smelled it, whereas I was really impressed by Fougere D’argent when I first smelled it. I’ll give Beau De Jour another smell being that I do appreciate a good barbershop fragrance. Besides while it’s still available, Fougere D’Argenthas been discontinued.

I’ve heard great things about Fougere D’argent by TF. Never got a chance to sample it before it was discontinued. Is it completely different from TF Beau De Jour? I love the dry down of TF Beau De Jour the best. The opening is quite pungent from the heavy use of lavender, but as soon as it smooths out it’s perfect. Yeah man give Beau De Jour a couple more wears. I think it works best in the spring and summer.

You're right about this being a "safe fougere" - not youthful, but not too "old man", which is more important to be as I get closer to being a real old man 😂 I don't necessarily want to wear a fragrance which smells dated. About anosmia, I'm sure most times people say a fragrance is weak, it's actually just anosmia. I put on 2 sprays of 1 Million Lucky earlier, and i can still smell it. I've done 12 sprays in the past, and couldn't smell it after an hour... Longevity is completely subjective when you're the one inside the scent bubble. Anyway, glad you're well! Did you say 102F? Damn that's warm!! It's 92 here today, and I'd burn after an hour in this sun! 😅

You did 12 sprays of BDJ? Or 1Million Lucky? I've done 9 sprays of BDJ and people could smell me from across the room lol, So I cut it down to 5 sprays max with BDJ. I have only smelled 1 Million Lucky once so I dont remember the performance on that one. Yeah It was about 105 degrees Fahrenheit at the time of the recording. It got to about 110 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of it. My camera overheated 3 times 🤣. And It was about to overheat again, but luckily I made the ending quick! The heat isnt that bad, you just have to stay hydrated (water only) and get acclimated well. But people here die of heat stroke all the time during the summer. You could cook a steak on the sidewalk if you wanted too 🤣. I hope you are doing well David!

@@LocdScents I'm staying well hydrated but I burned myself a few weeks ago 😂😂 Oh, 12 sprays of Lucky, and probably 8 with BdJ! Lucky is kinda nice, in that it's a fresh gourmand, so chocolate and hazelnut, but also airy :) Sotd is Xerjoff Uden. Def fresh, but has depth. Rn I'm going summer citrus, but I've enjoyed wearing heavier stuff on cooler evenings - things like Boss Scent Magnetic and Le Male Elixir. The Boss is very good imo, so much so that I have a backup bottle! 😛

You motivated me to make Beau De Jour my SOTD. I love the lavender, mint and patchouli. It kind of reminds me of the smell of the shoreline of a freshwater lake at night. Almost kind of moldy or algae-like, but in a good way.

Man you at least gotta try it. I got lots of fougere’s too and this one just hits different haha. I really wasn’t a fan of it either (because I sprayed it on paper first) but it eventually grew on me and is probably my second favorite Fougere fragrance of all time (as of now). Hope you doing well man. Have you picked up any new fragrances recently?

I like Beau De Jour. But, it is a little harsh to me. I love MFK Masculin Pluriel. The lavender is so smooth in Masculin Pluriel. However, stores are out of MP right now, so you would have to find it in the groups. I love the drive away at the end lol.

I have never tried MFK Masculin Pluriel. I will have to sample it! If the lavender is smoother than the opening in BDJ then Imma definitely like it. I just wonder about the performance with the MFK. In the past most of the MFK's I have tried havent lasted that long. When I was driving away at the end I tired to "gun" it, but since its a 4 cylinder not much happened 🤣

I’m wearing the new Amouage Opus XV King Blue this evening. It is so good. It is a funky Oud, but beautiful. Kind of barnyard. Same oud (assam) as in Silver Oud, but not smoky or harsh like Silver Oud.

👀👀 I heard of that new on from Amouage. Do you think Its full bottle worthy? The oud sounds nice in it too. I wonder why they named it “King Blue” tho. Name would seem like it’s a blue fragrance lol

@@LocdScents It is very much full bottle worthy. The Oud is real and very high quality. It is a beautiful scent. And like all Amouages, though they are complex they still work in the heat. It isn’t “blue” though in any way.

@@LocdScents It seems to morph. The beginning is barnyardy. The mid is like Oud For Greatness, but higher quality and real Oud. The base is sometimes like Pardon and other times is just a beautiful Amber and Oud. I love this scent. Got some compliments already.
