About me - I'm Claire and I live in the UK. My taste in perfumes is usually quite sweet but not too sweet, I love white florals but not tuberose so much. I like gourmands as long as they smell like perfumes still, I require my perfumes to change a little bit as I wear them ie not linear. I don't enjoy oud, leather, cumin, saffron or strong patchouli however there can be occasions where I do like perfumes with these notes if they are not too dominant. I enjoy most florals as long as they are backed up with something sweet or perhaps resins / insense. I tend to not enjoy anything very soapy. I also don't really enjoy very green fragrances. I am averse to overdoses of ambroxan and iso E super (timbersilk or similar) just because I find it annoying! I have no problem with synthetics in perfumery but I do enjoy perfumes that have some notes that at least smell like they could be from nature. My favourite type of perfumery is indie and I love Francesca Bianchi, Teone Reinthal, 4160 Tuesdays and Papillon Artisan Perfumes.

The name is too crude for my taste, but it’s quite a creamy, smooth and somewhat lactonic scent in the opening as the bitter almond is enveloped in the creamy vanilla note. I quite enjoyed it contrary to many people’s experiences it seems 😂

I love your reviews! I really like the Iris Shalimar for its fluffiness, and in a different way I like Vanille de Tahiti (agree it’s not sweet, it reminds me of a double-fold, high quality vanilla extract you would use for baking). I’m curious about this one. Agree the Noir line was a highlight for Tom Ford.

Smelled this today it’s quite pleasant, but the name is crazy , I told the man at Tom ford counter when he said do you like vanilla sex sir , I replied I like my sex wild , but the fragrance was decent

Our music teacher in elementary school showed us a film every year at Christmas that told the story of the Nutcracker (along with the music, of course) and so the story is seared into my brain. 🤪 I'm jealous of your night at the ballet! Can't wait to try Vanilla Sex (that sounds odd to say). 🤣 Although if it's like Vanille de Tahiti, it might not be my cuppa tea. 😱💩
