The Perfume Guys raved about this scent. I took the time to test it at Sephora. I was not impressed on the opening. However, the dry down is where it is at. I absolutely love it. I ended up purchasing it.

My absolute fave Tom Ford fragrance is Metallique. Im also a huge fan of Santal Blush and Soleil Blanc. But that cold aldehydic feel of Metallique just feels good to me lol. The bottle you put your fragrant body oil in tho! Would you mind sharing where you got it? I order from them often and would love something like that for my oils! Would display so much better on my shelves!!!

This smells really good to me. It’s semi sweet, almost powdery with a beautiful almond base. The projection isn’t beast mode but I can still smell it on me hours later.

I love Tom Ford, but I feel these weak, lackluster offerings are tainting his rep. The price doesn't offend me because TF is luxury and a high price is what to be expected. But paying so much for an underperforming fragrance is unacceptable.

What is good, however, is that you are still able to acknowledge the shortcomings of the fragrance, despite having a bias toward or predilection for Tom Ford. This is something that is not seen enough in the fragrance community on YT, especially when it comes to certain popular brands. For me, it's a red flag when reviewers love and recommend every single fragrance from certain brands and never have anything critical to say.

Love your balanced review. I haven't smelled Vanilla Sex yet, but why am I reminded of Escapade Gourmande when you describe it? Beautiful scent. Can't smell it for very long -- more of a skin scent? I do like Tobacco Vanille, but my favorite is Noir Pour Femme!!

Great review! i appreciate your honesty regarding the fragrance. As a TF lover, i own over 16 TF fragrances and I haven't been happy with this most recent releases, I was excited for and had hope that VS would break the spell of lackluster releases, but after trying this out it was a disappointment. After 4 hours on my skin, I can barely smell it. Also, thanks for the tip on tf metallique I bought the 3.4oz bottle, as I ran out of the 1,7oz.

Hi Ayesha, I love Tom Ford fragrances. Vanilla Sex strongly smells like a Sugar Cookie to me. I couldn't picture a man wearing it. It's too sweet and girly. It's soft, sweet and smells like a sugar cookie😂 It lasted a few hours on me. I just sprayed it on at the counter in Saks. I was waiting for you to sat, it smells like a cookie😊 Nice bottle

I was disappointed because this is an almond fragrance. When influenster sent it over I was so excited. Womp womp. Nutty Sex would have made more sense because its an almond frag with hints of vanilla comes out in the drydown and no where as near as being seen as a vanilla fragrance. At this point TF might want to get Lauder to change the name since they are ruining his reputation with mediocre formulations. He can pull a Jo Malone and open a new line that goes more along the lines of his private line.

Vanilla Sex by Tom Ford 🤮🤮🤮🤢 I’m a huge fan of vanilla scents, and this ain’t it! You’re better off sticking to sugar cookie scented fragrances from Bath and Body Works, Victoria Secret, and Walmart. I love his Tobacco Vanille, so I was exited for this launch. This is for private school children, not no grown adult. I’m ready to take a hot shower, and wash this mess off. Don’t fall into the marketing hype, and smell it before you buy it. In fact don’t purchase it. You’re going to smell like you need to grow up.
