He can go from being really funny, and interesting, to insanely unfunny, and irritating to the point where you wanna punch him in the snoot within a matter of seconds! Bob keeps trying to talk, and he just can’t seem to stop himself from having a separate conversation, or asking the next question before the first one has been answered… it’s beyond enraging! Maybe a lack of self awareness, common courtesy, and having what seems to be pretty severe narcissism, is what it takes to be an entertainer? I’m seeing this in just about everything I watch, or listen to, and it’s amazing that anything ever gets done with so many hyper people babbling about themselves (or nothing at all). Who are the people that have to wrangle them in, and get them focused on the project? Those are the ones with true talent, It has to be a nightmare! I still enjoy some of the people/shows, I’m just saying I would be worried about cutting the guests off all the time, and the show being a mess.

Should have kept the winning formula, the change to a serious talk show is why it didn't blow up more. Plus, if you are going to do that at least focus on your guest as you said. Added to that there seemed to be no planning, and taking the risk of let's just see what crazy shit happens is nuts because often nothing happens. Plus not streaming on KZbin was a terrible decision. A lot of missed potential
@DeimosSaturn Жыл бұрын
I can never tell if all those times Tom was frantic and upset with the production crew was all part of a joke about how he desperately wants to be a professional despite how amateur the whole thing is and how absurd the idea of a late night tv talk show really is and how technology has steadily democratized broadcasting as an artform. Even while he was still doing Tom Green show revamp on Mtv he referenced Andy Warhol's "in the future, everyone will have their fifteen minutes of fame" and illustrated the truism with his segment that played on Warhol's prediction called "15 seconds of fame" which as we all know is a prophecy that came true with the rise of social media and then vine, and now tiktok. Most of Tom Green's fans can tell you he might be a comedic genius, but to people who are casual observers of Tom, they might seem like they are exaggerating. But if you really examine what Tom is doing objectively, like someone who is from a completely foreign culture unfamiliar with western culture, having no pre-conceived notions of what constitutes 'normal' or 'main-stream' entertainment, what Tom Green was doing with his show is not much more bizarre and strange than what any other late night talk show host was doing. Just think of how peculiar and strange the concept of a tv talk show is. Who elected the host to be the host? Based on what criteria? To what end? What's the point? Merely to entertain people with banter between celebrities who don't ultimately matter in the grand scheme? Are they really having thoughtful and meaningful dialogs about philosophy, art, music, and current events? Or is it just something to sell dish detergent and car tires? Or even sell anti-depressant medication and health insurance? Like when the news airs life insurance ads immediately after a story about a homicide of a parent or spouse. Tom Green definitely sold Mtv something that was going to throw everything we thought we knew into question about the 'legitimacy' of media. Every move he's made in his career has been that of an outside who, llike a wrecking ball, just moves through barriers, on a cultural level, on a corporate/capitalist level, on a freedom of expression level, on a philosophical level, on an artistic level. So when I say Tom Green is a genius, understand that I really mean that, and I don't take the word "genius" lightly. I mean he is actually a real genius.
