Very nice, Tom. It's so beautiful there. I camped in my van in Joshua State Park the last time Haley's Comet passed, with my little telescope from high school. So awesome and inspiring. Used to watch your show with my Grandma Josie when I was a little boy and we would crack up. She loved how silly you were and I thought it was hilarious. She was a classy Irish immigrant the grew up in New York in the 40s. The fact SHE showed me your show revealed another side to her that I never saw before. Unfortunately she passed away from Lung Cancer even though she never smoked 11 years ago. She was a great woman and I miss her dearly. Seeing this video of you reminded me of staying up late and talking with my grandma and watching tv with her. Id do just about anything to do that again with her but im grateful that I ever even had her and those moments in my life. Thank you for being you. I'm actually preparing to get and setup a van, to move out west and live in said Van. I'm a 45 year old man, productive member of society. My father only has a few months if not moments, left in this world. He's my last tether to society, so when he goes, I don't have any more reason, to exist in this society that I've never felt comfortable in. I'm actually looking forward to... esentially being homeless. I've always worked in restaurants so, I'll always have that in my toolbox in case I need any money.
@Doyouevenart694 жыл бұрын
I’m really sorry about your pops, I know that’s gotta be tough. My girlfriend/best friend passed away about two years ago and my mom is really sick and On any given day I’m on the verge of falling apart. I certainly look back on my life and have a lot of doubts and regrets...I definitely have wanted to bail on society and let go of the proverbial tether or rope....but then i remember all those wonderful, beautiful connections ive made along the way with genuine, good people....I don’t want to lose that...while I know it’s tough losing out immediate family, it’s part of life, but family doesn’t have to be limited to blood...each and everyone around me, those whom have actually cared about me and those who I have built real bonds with ARE my family... life long friends....treasure those relationships... I also think it’s important to recognize and acknowledge one’s self. I’ve kind of slowly learned and accepted to love myself for who I am and trust the decisions I make in life to become someone, whom not only Am I proud to be, but someone my friends and loved ones genuinely care about. Someone they are proud to know. There is hope and there is beauty out there you just gotta find it within sometimes. Anyways I hope you get through it man, I hope you cherish your precious last moments with your father, I’m sure it may feel like that tether is frail, thin , and worn....but it isn’t broken....I promise you that you can find a sense of purpose and self worth
@conhip4 жыл бұрын
@@Doyouevenart69 I appreciate your sentiments about my father but I can assure you that we've been expecting this for quite a while due to his health He's prepared us for it throughout the past few years his quality of life has diminished so much that we can understand how precious a release can be. Not to get too deep with a stranger, but I'm the unfortunate product of a worst case scenario step family. They've always made sure myself worthless squashed, even though I was able to escape and live my life for quite a few years without them, I eventually had to come home and help take care of my father. Through doing that I had to end back up in the lion's den Even though coming back was a painful realization of the psychological damage that they have done, it helped me tremendously increase my self-confidence and self-worth because I was able to see the what I was looking at wasn't real it was just a product of jealousy and inadequacy of a s***** step family. My father was the only connection I had left to that feeling of shame that I still feel and constantly fight to shake off. I've been working in restaurants cooking for so many years that I feel I can go anywhere and get a job so I might as well get a van and move as far away as possible and just to recreate a new life under the image that I know that I am without ever having to worry about going back or feeling like that again.
