Had the pleasure of meeting him while he was making The Money Pit. He was the sweetest. He gave me his autograph and stood there looking at a book that I had with me about Disneyland while I stood there star struck. It was so surreal. Yes, I know that actors are people, but after you've seen him in Splash...I'm just glad I was able to speak using coherent sentences.😉

I didn't see it in the cinema - watched it on VHS in the VCR. But I agree - they don't make films like they used to. I feel bad for kids now days. To be fair, the entire reason big name guests like going on the Jonathan Ross show is that they know it's going to be easy, if they want it to be easy. Ross is very professional with filling the gaps with shy guests, whereas he does shut up appropriately if it's someone who wants to talk a lot. And Hanks was very very talkative.
