I was on a television show when I was eight as myself and my friend had been chosen to walk out onto this catwalk and do this weird improvised dance (it was a silly contest for childrens television). We were meant to be introduced before we came out and the man who had to introduce us was required to do it like over 20 times, thankfully we only had to do our own dance once because we had silly string sprayed on us but I could totally related to what you were saying. All the guy had to do was introduce us in one sentence and it took, I would say, well over an hour and being only eight years old, I became so bored after only the 5th take, it really takes away the magic of television.

i'm not an actor but just going by what i've read it depends on the director cause there are some that hate to a lot of takes, and some that prefer it, but it's not always the director sometimes it's the actor like i think i want to say Robert De NIro that likes to do a lot of takes. others like the late actor John Carradine was a one take actor meaning he normally did his best work in one take. but he would do more if he was asked that's how good he was

Tom Hanks is the James Stewart of his time - the family man, the ‘average’ american (or universal) man that is very relatable to everyone and still got a fascinating charm and karma to him. It’s a combination of the right looks, voice and personality. Who will follow him? There are many sexy young actors, but not one with that particular type of karma, to play those roles. I don’t see Leo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Matt Damon, none I can think of with that quality, that energy that Hanks and Stewart both have/had. We have James Deans all over the place and not a single James Stewart I can think of.
@DaimyoSexy8 жыл бұрын
To each their own. Tom Hanks would be the type of person who wouldn't compare himself to others and neither would those actors you mentioned. We are all our own person and have our own place in the world. Tom Hanks just happens to be an amazing actor and so his genuine self is exposed to the masses. There is nothing wrong trying to emulate someone else, and who better than Tom Hanks.
@juancpgo8 жыл бұрын
I didn't say there was anything wrong about any of the actors I mentioned, I like all of them.
@DaimyoSexy8 жыл бұрын
I understand your intentions, but its still implied when comparing anyone.. Its like saying: "Peter is such an amazing person, a true leader. I don't see Juan, Scott, Frank, none I can think of with that quality." Its implied that we don't have that quality at all whether you meant it. I guess another way you could look at it is comparing Tom Hanks to you or I. In comparison, clearly we don't have those qualities, but on our own, we actually do because we're good people, its just not as vivid and noticeable or done in a different way. Anyways these always brew into a you vs me, right vs wrong, youtube debate and thats not my intentions. I understand what you said, you've explained yourself, I think we can both agree that Tom Hanks is an amazing soul, cheers! =)

I might have expressed myself wrong. I didn't mean Hanks was better than the others (and I don't think that), I just meant that his style and function as an actor is more similar to James Steward than to James Dean. And I don't think Stewart is better than Dean either! haha I really don't. But there is much more male actors today like Dean (the charming/sexy role) than Stewart (the relatable/family role). Cheers man.

I don't think Dean could ever be as relatable and likeable as Stewart, and I don't think Stewart could ever be as sexy and charming as Dean. But I admire and respect both qualities equally. Also, I speak from what I've seen, my current impression, maybe these actors could suddenly transform themselves and surprise me.

Hanks got where he is in Hollywood by being a master of seeking out the power people. Eastwood got where he is by working hard, having many talents...writing music, directing, producing...and being his own man.

He really does. His face here looks much like what it did in the first half of the movie Castaway. Even back then when the second half was filmed a year later, the 50 lb weight loss made him look a decade younger.

Shazam You're right. Some folks look older when they lose too much weight. Not him. This was a good interview. Love him....

He said a while back he has diabetes now and he can't do any yo yo weight gain and loss for roles. He's been set a weight to be at and if that's good for the role, great. If not...tough.
