Until this day, I never knew that one of my favourite British actors was the voice of my favourite Narnia character!

I met the queen in the 90s. I was surprised on how to pronounce "ma'am". As we were told by her organisers in a little rhyme: "It's mam as in jam not marm as in marmilade"

I always called my lady clients “ ma’am” as in jam . One particularly grand lady chided me gently , saying “ I’m not Royal” . I said “ You are to me , ma’am”. She kissed me. Nicely , on the cheek. I always got on well with her, she was a Dowager Marchioness of about 80.

Thanks for letting me know. For years I thought the rhyme about how to say ma’am was ‘mam’ as in ‘jam’ not ‘marm’ as in ‘farm’, oops 😀👍🏼

When I first saw Tom's earliest shows, I swear, he was the loudest guy on tv. My old mum didn't like him at all and would say " why does he have to shout everything ? " I think if she was alive today she would finally get it. Live long , Tom, and prosper.
