So many actors obviously care more about being movie stars and celebrities rather than artists. Hardy has integrity and pride in what he does, and it shows in the final product. It is really interesting how TH never tries to look "pretty" in public, unlike the vast majority of actors out there (I suppose Depp also falls in the non pretty category, but he puts on too many accessories), and this really shows how his ego operates. He seems to be fully concentrated on his craft, on being a great performer, and in evolving as an actor. I am one of the people who believes he should never do Bond, but maybe, maybe one well chosen 007 script would be interesting.
