Tom Horn was a product of his day and environment. He was no angel but not the villain by most metrics.

He was a cold blooded killer, killing from a distance with his rifle. But in this case he was the scape goat and was wrongfully convicted & executed

This is funny, because the movie Tom Horn is on TV right now. Tom Horn I've been reading about him all my life and I still haven't come up with an answer.

His crimes did catch up to him. He did not plan to be in shady company.

Using today’s legal standards Tom Horn wouldn’t have been guilty of the murder. However Horn had become a liability for the Cattleman’s Association. That being said there was nothing innocent about Tom Horn’s career as an enforcer.

Didn't I hear you say Jim Miller was in the area? He sure wasn't a Saint.

Yes, he and his son(s) were initially arrested for the crime, but were later released once they got their hooks onto Tom Horn.

Good vid, good optics!! Legally, I believe Tom Horn was illegally found guilty. However, KARMA does rule, and he just got punished for another crime. In short, he played with fire, and got burnt. I had a family member murdered(un-armed) ( in circa time period) by same employer as Horn. Eat supper w/ my gr-uncle, called uncle outside, as visitor was preparing to leave, shot uncle, dead, as he came out into yard. No reason known, never caught, convicted. ( Gun-man was killed in near-by state, in a bar-brawl).
