Am a 80 year old American woman who grew up during WW2 and after the war we came into a time of prosperity, We were a patriot country grateful for all those who fought for this country. Young people today buying into the socialist agenda to divide and conquer need to be dropped into a Communist Country for a month or two. They are spoiled with riches and freedom that they don't even understand until it's taken away. I am new to Toms badass music and messages and in the latest two weeks I have been listening to his stuff non stop and I love it! His music is about america and what is happening over there but as a swede this can easily be translated to be about my home country too. I love what he is doing and before people cancel him based on his looks and music you need to listen to what he is actually saying, There is a message for all of us in there. And it is about the system, The system is designed in different ways in every single country but globaly it is all about control. And how to control us as humans, by playing all our beliefs and values against each other through media. To keep us from seeing the big picture. How the 1% elites control everything for their own benefit by screwing us little people to modern slavery, We are all slaves under the dollar or whatever currency that you have in your country. And whatever you do the system will hold you down and accountable for what you do. It is keeping us divided to protect itself, To keep our attention on other things then the actual problem of it all! That is what it is designed to do. And as soon as people wake up and realize this we can unite and beat the system in our favour not in the favour of the 1% that is trying to control us. Awesome song as always and the lyrics hits exactly where they should, So listen people it is about us as a society in general, where ever you are! Um, it may not be metaphorical... The reason the United States has a second amendment is because we were founded by rebelling against a tyrannical government. It is stated in the Declaration of Independence that when a government becomes tyrannical and repeatedly infringes on the rights of the citizens, and all other options have been exhausted, a free people has the right to abolish it and form another. "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." The purpose of the second amendment to the Constitution of the United States was not to protect the right to sport shooting and hunting. It was to make sure we never have submit to tyranny.

I find Tom’s act sad and hypocritical. Pretending to be a soldier while spouting anti-American tripe and literally “wrapping himself in the flag” to act the patriot while sowing division and hate, just feels pathetic to me. He’s realised how easy it is to push the buttons of the people targeted by the Republican Party, those convinced that the only acceptable form of free speech is what they want you to say - that if you are not conforming to their idea of what it means to be “American” then you don’t deserve respect. The hypocrisy is terrible - while claiming to defend free speech and freedom, he attacks people exercising free speech and freedom. That’s anti-American while pretending to be a patriot. He might actually believe this stuff but when I see him perform this whinny chest beating to pretend to be tough, all I see is him focused on the $$ he knows he’ll make from the sheep who buy this message. When the south tried to destroy the union in the name of slavery (racism, bigotry etc), they failed and history sees them as traitors to the very concept of freedom and the American dream. I’d put those pushing this “the only form of freedom is what we say you can have” message in the same group - it doesn’t matter to me how much they pretend to be patriotic, if you’re opposed to other people’s freedom, you are anti-American - and that’s all this performance is about - worship the flag, behave how we want you to behave, don’t use your freedom to judge me, don’t be who you are be who we tell you to be. It’s not as bad as the cynical song he did about the media making money of black lives lost - when that’s exactly what he was doing with the song, but I would be disappointed if any true American, anyone who understands what real freedom is, isn’t annoyed by this attempt to exploit the gullible into thinking this is “patriotism”
