Imagine a time where nobody had mobile phones and you had to hear of raves through word of mouth or an advertisement on a poster in town somewhere. When you turned up to a rave and nobody wanted to look good for a social network but to look good for the moment, dancing with each other all night / day until the police showed up to shut it down.

remember that it's been almost 20 years since this music first emerged, initially there were a handful of innovative producers, but as more people got into the music the numbers of producers imitating outnumbered those innovating, until you get to a point where there are more fillers being produced than cutting edge tunes, same happened in hip-hop, house, techno and now even in so called experimental music. We live in an age of imitation and it's up to people like you to change this

@ncshuriken A lot of it's to do with a reliance on drum vsts and drum machines, as opposed to the sampled soulful jazz funk breaks which drove wonderful tracks like this. You start with a beautiful break and it's going to make you think and create more; start with some techstep beat and you're bound to produce something utterly souless.

Some people would crucify you for saying that, but Im with you on that one mate. This stuff is where the vibe is, forget benny page, high contrast, chase n status n the like. Producers need to turn the pages back a bit, listen to how shit used to be made, and incorporate that into their tunes of today, to re-invoke the flavour. Thats what I think anyway. Big tune, straight in the favourites
