I think you missed the point. I used to watch Tom and Jerry when I was a kid and it never lead me to do harmless pranks. What he is trying to say is that sometimes too much TV or the wrong type of cartoons will give kids the wrong impression.He didn't specifically say Tom and Jerry was wrong. And I wouldn't exactly call Family Guy or South Park cartoons that are "For the better of Mankind". So don't get your knickers in a twist and just think before you type.

It's not just cartoon its in children books as well, I never new my mother did this however before she gave me new books she would read it cover to cover, just to make sure there wasn't anything in there that was harmful. I only found this out some what 30 years later as she was buying a book for one of the kids in our family. She very clearly brought up the topic that things play on children's minds when the lights go out and it's time to sleep. So keep clear of funny monster books as things aren't so funny when your 3 and alone in the dark.... shaitan is waiting to tease and play with there innocence.

i have done psychology and sociology, studies indicate it desensitizes a person therefore they dont see real violence AS BAD as a person who doesnt watch violence, have you not seen children try to imitate actions they see on T.V thats why they say after certain movies dont try this at home because they know little children may imitate what they see on T.V and not everyone does because studies talk about media literacy, high media literacy shows you know its only a film or cartoon

I also study psychology and as I said this is very rare. Most of the things they say with "do not try this at home" is dangerous acts oly done my professionals such as wrestling...they do not say this before playing Tom and Jerry! As for desenitization, so does watching the news desentitise us, when we hear all these people dying...but does that mean we should stop watching the news? Nope.

Yes cartoonn is cartoon but what the shiekh is saying is that cartoons these days are not appropriate. Like he says it involves killing and voilence and so on. If the cartoon teaches good then yes we should allow our children to watch it but if it just involves killing and fighting which is part of real life then these things influnce the mind subconciesly. I grew up watching Tom & Jerry. I'm 27 years old. Throughout my high school and college I've never been mischievous or harmed anyone with pranks. Your religion has no answer to what's going around the world. So. you come up with concoctions in blaming creative cartoons made for the better of mankind. Cartoons that make you laugh are not devilish. Islam, Quran and Hadith contain messages of violence. That's where the kids learn to fight and learn about Jihad.
