Tom King Heroes in Crisis Part 1 *** SPOILERS ***

Tom King is really the only comic book writer whose work I still care to read. And then you say pretty much the same thing. Lol.

I think Tom King is a mixed bag. I really didn't enjoy his run on Supergirl and I thought his time writing Batman was mediocre and obviously I despised Heroes in Crisis but when he's on as he was with Mister Miracle, Rorschach, Strange Adventures and Human Target, he's one of the best writers ever employed by DC.

@@DCSilverAgeStorytime I agree but I also think that applies to every writer. I love Alan Moore as well but he's had some bad runs as well. I haven't read Heroes in Crisis because I have heard that it's really bad but I think when he hits, it's usually great.

If I were to rank my top 10 favorite comic stories of all time, Alan Moore would probably have 7 or 8 of them. I'd say that I never read anything by Alan Moore less than good. The man could do superheroes, horror, humor, pretty much everything. I remember not getting into Promethea and I felt that the quality of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was very uneven but overall he is easily my favorite comic book writer bar none. The one I really think about is Grant Morrison who could create some of the best stories in the history of comics and some of the absolute worst. I'd say his hits far outweighed his misses but sometimes his stories were painful to read. Mark Waid is another writer who had a few legendary stories but overall I think his writing is average. It does seem like Tom King may be expanding away from DC currently.

@@DCSilverAgeStorytime I use Alan Moore because he's my favorite writer but I didn't really like The Killing Joke or Voodoo along with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but that's my personal preference. I wouldn't say the writing was necessarily bad, I just personally didn't like it. But overall, yeah, we seem to have pretty similar tastes so I think I can trust your judgment on this stuff. Which is why I thought you should talk more about what you think about certain stories. Although maybe that should be on another channel if you were to do it. I agree with pretty much everything you have said and would be interested in a channel where you talk about comics of all eras, including today, and let us know which you think are best and worst or something like that.

I would say my top 8 Alan Moore stories/series are as follows 1. Watchmen (greatest comic story ever) 2. Swamp Thing 3. Marvelman/Miracleman 4. V for Vendetta 5. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen volumes 1 and 2 6. Tom Strong 7. From Hell 8. Top 10 I do remember being very disappointed in Neonomicon. It wasn't bad but I did not like the swerve at the end.
