What a great story, Thank you Mr Jerry. Memphis is my home town and yet I had never heard of this amazing man. Isn't that strange? :) Bless his soul....for the many others he saved, even though Tom couldn't swim. You know as a child, my dad moved us around a lot in his construction work. We were based out of Memphis, but different jobs he was on, found us living in Walls,MS. ,Horn Lake , Tunica ,Clarksdale, Greenville , Greenwood, Jackson and many places in Arkansas. I guess thats why I always claimed Mississippi as home. :) I joined the US Army in Boloxi MS in 1974 and have never returned, but I sure do MISS Mississippi. :) You have another great work here my friend , Thank you - Herb (Texas)
