Great reaction to a very important song. ❤ A lot of people judge Tom by the exterior without getting to know anything about him. 'Tryna judge your engine by your paint job' - This House by Tom MacDonald. But Tom has gone through a lot in his life and has helped many people along the way. He has built a huge fan base that is more of a family and the hard core HOG are some of the kindest, most supportive people you will find because we've been through some sh*t ourselves. His songs come with a message and he talks about unity, starting conversations we need to have but don't. He points out the hypocrisy he sees, going after both sides, and gives it to you straight which makes many people uncomfortable. I always like to watch the new reactor’s when they first discover Tom’s music. No matter which song they pop their Tom cherry with they always say the same thing. They love that all of his songs have a message, and they always want to hear more. You have to also tap into some Adam Calhoun and some Dax. Also check out Tom’s girlfriend Nova Rockafeller’s music. She used to be signed with Def Jam. They screwed her over trying to turn her into a pop star. She finally bought her way out from under them and now she is coming back after 16 years. She gas been concentrating all her energy on Tom’s music career. Now she is working on her own album. But go check out sone of her music. She was a rapper before Tom even considered a music career. Tom was a professional wrestler for years. Go check out Tom’s song Chrome with Adam and Nova and you will get a small sample of Nova stealing the show.

Tom's backstory, and Nova's backstory are triumphs. Begins with Tom MacDonald exprowrestler from Canada, former alcoholic, depression, anxiety,, sui cidal, turned rock-n-roll musician, turned rapper. Moved to South Central, California to rescue Nova, her depression and excessive drinking. Nova beginning: born Canada, moved to Jamaica as a preteen because of father's aquatic business focused on tourism. Bullied by racist girls, and sexually targeted by a boy. Moved back to Canada started rapping with boys that changed her slavek name to Rockafeller. Got kicked out of the group for being to good. Started performing her own gigs. Got an email from this boy that wanted to perform at one of her gigs named Tom MacDonald. Left for Toronto, and then NY to be signed by a label. Label went under and was shipped to Crenshaw by the new label, but the label quit paying her rent and she was evicted then she found out that they had fired her. She left to go back to Jamaica. Her ex asked about what if she failed, she threatened her life. He moved back to South Central, and called Tom for help.

Tom has a wild back story. I apologize for this long post. Some of your comments reminded me so much of myself, I got comment diarrhea (gross symbolism, sorry). I only share this with you as I am impressed at how well you have your head screwed on right and I feel you will take to heart what is being said (I don’t share this info with just anybody). If any of my phrases seem weird, feel free to ask (I am a 62 year old Hispanic American - 2nd gen - and I sometimes use slang from when I was your age, a long, long time ago). ***Personal Opinion on Tom***: I think part of the anger Tom has towards the corporate music industry is due him buying into the message presented by rappers. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide. He couldn’t pay his bills AND was evicted, living on the street until he went back and lived at his mom’s for 9 months, fully disconnected from the world, not even interacting with other humans. He finally made his way back and has nothing nice to say about the music industry labels or the message they push to the mainstream. He will not compromise and had no choice but to be truly independent. His music is also his therapy for the darkness of the depression and anxiety - that monster never goes away, I know because I’ve tried to kill the one lurking in my shadows. If you check out “Sober”, (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmbOpWVtntmHarc ), you will get Tom’s story. He is an open book and knows that keeping it 💯 helps keep the monster locked down. His spoken word joints are also good for backstory. As you react to more of Tom’s tracks, you will see why there are 3 groups of people that listen to Tom’s tracks: 1. The haters. Never gonna change and the #hangovergang will always just wave🖕🏽🖕🏿🖕🏼 2. Group 3 includes me and many others - keeping it real af: 3. We are people that have done battle with our own demons, such as alcohol, drugs, other addictions and depression. While Tom’s music is therapy for him, it’s also a source of strength for us. The thing that gives us the greatest power over the darkness is knowing we are not alone. Lastly, some things I’ve learned after flipping the bird to Death 3 times: *: Life is full of absurdity. When non-critical shit happens (I.e. bought the wrong car part or the car part breaks), treat is as an absurdity and laugh your ass off at it. That takes all the power away from absurdities. Things like dyslexia are also absurdities (I have it bad but joke about it because, well you know, it’s ABSURD!). *: Life is a grand adventure. And, just like any roller coaster, there are scary parts and there are the thrills. All you have to remember is to Hold On Tight and enjoy the ride. Substances like alcohol and drugs don’t enhance the adventure, they will however, muddy the experience. *: You are not alone. No matter what struggles or challenges you may face, others have been there. There is no shame in the struggle, it’s what makes us stronger, like lifting weights. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and the ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, to not seek help from a spotter. There are lots of people who are willing to serve as a “spotter” when asked. #hangovergang forever - for life 🤟🏽🤟🏼🤟🏿

a little background on why these 2 crazy white guys think they know race issues. Tom is from Canada, but moved to LA to try and make it in hip hop..... he failed... and ended up dirt broke, living in South Central... his power shut off,.. he wrote Dear Rappers on his porch, pissed at the industry.... recorded it and filmed the video that night, with power from an extension cord to his neighbors garage.... it went viral. Adam grew up in Chicago.... battle rapping in clubs.... he quit rap cause its insanely hard for a white dude to make it.... he did some time.... after he got out, he eventually he got back into rap because of a friendships with Upchurch, and later Jelly Roll
