I feel he's talking about everyone. Every person, regardless of skin color, background, sex, or religious beliefs or whatever; we all have our problems throughout life. Some haunt us forever but we have a choice to either be a victim and be held back for making a wrong choice or we can put it aside and make our lives better. It doesn't mean it goes away, we just don't focus on it and sometimes we just need to listen to people who are different so we can see their perspective in order to understand them better. This has always been one of my favourite TM songs simply for the fact that it tells us how the same we all really are and how simple it is to actually figure that out for ourselves

I see what your saying about whos paying taxes but in reality poor people don't pay taxes, they do get taxes taken out of their checks , but at the end of the year they get their money back + other peoples tax money Too. We as people pay way too much (all of us) . I think their should be a flat tax on every dollar. The tax brackets should be erased . All the secondary taxes like food tax, Gas Tax, ect... should never happen those taxes should have all been paid out of our regular taxes. This taxing of the same money over and over again is out of control.

Most people don't realize that most rich people invest in things so they don't actually have income and if you don't have income there is nothing to tax. They only have to pay if they sell there stock. The other part is the tax codes or loop holes

The top 1% pay most of the taxes the gov takes in. The top 10% is somewhere around like 80ish % of all taxes that the fed takes yearly percentages slightly vary yr to yr, lol It’s so funny people listen to stupid politicians and dumb media “journalists” When somebody actually has the balls to say what is percent or what is their fair share? And people have no idea what the answer is because I they don’t know to begin with. Now there is tax codes to help benefit those who run businesses and invest for those who just make a lot of money every year, but a lot of the businesses who have those new polls also employ a lot of people, and they are not actually making as much as they’re gross as they are every year because of expenses. I wish people who have influence and inform people and are supposed to be the Voice for the people to let them know what’s going on, would start being more honest actually inform the average every day American about how our economy actually works. Lol. Are there improvements that need to be made? Hell yeah they should be more of a democracy kind of thing. Like we should have some saying it, but we don’t. We should all be together against how government spending our money, and how the lobbying works and how we can work to eliminate some of these corrupt portions of our government to help benefit the actual people. But it’s not a black white rich poor it’s an us them. What was that famous quote by the comedian who for some reason his name is escaping my mind, OK George Carlin, and I’m not taking that out lol, said it best. It’s a big fucking club and you ain’t in it.

I enjoy watching your channel. The most important message I get from Tom Macdonald lyrics is that we are all humans and it’s the government, both parties, that is trying everything in the book to make us hate each other and stay divided so they can control us. I grew up taught to love one another and to love God first and foremost. I never judge anyone whether by the pigmentation of their skin or the accent of their voice or their personal choices. In every demographic there are evil a-holes out there that cannot be ignored but I don’t want people to judge me based on the actions of someone who happens to look like me and I offer the same respect by not judging groups by the actions of the bad apples.

I think part of the message is that Tom is talking about everyone, "rich" included. Even the rich have struggles. Most people that are rich, but not in the 1%, pay their taxes and pay a lot. The only way to avoid taxes is to loose more money than you make, to die, or to cheat. Many of those business owners will gladly crow about how much they made but won't tell you how much that money cost them to make. Making 1.5 million in a business doesn't go as far as many think. You need to pay your employees, provide insurance, pay off the money you borrowed to grow your business, account for all the stuff you have bought and its depreciation, etc. Those millionaires pay most of the taxes the government uses and many consider them rich but it's that 1%, which is a small number of multi-millionaires and billionaires, that could afford to pay taxes, that find ways to shirk or limit their responsibility. Those millionaires, I guess, could be considered the upper middle class.

You also have to look at Corporations have the employees, Employees get taxed, but when they say Tax the rich, they are meaning the Company has to pay in on their total amount gross, Not just the profit they made.. After paying for labor, manufacturing costs, Delivery services. Their actual profit is way less, that's what I believe they should get taxed on not Gross, but net.. Just my opinion
