I couldn't agree more. The feeling I get when listening to Tom's music isn't like other songs that you listen to. A lot of songs tell great stories, about love, friendship, loss, etc, but Tom's music to me gives me hope that it makes me people think about what is going on in our lives and why everything is happening the way it is. Tom is a very smart guy. He uses his brain, facts, common sense, and logic. I am sure he gets information from more then one place. He is giving his opinion in the song, but he is providing the (evidence, facts, or reasoning what ever you would like to call it) to back what he thinks (or believes) and why he does. As a former alarm dispatcher I can confirm that not only are the police underfunded, but they also do not care as much as you think they do. In the event of a police emergency alarms can sometimes take up to an hour to get through to Indianapolis, Fresno, and New York is a hot mess of tangled and outdated directories. It isn't even the alarm company's fault, their response time is typically within a minute to a minute and a half, but emergency dispatch takes so long to get through to. Not to mention Police dispatchers don't even get compensated for therapy even after going through tragic incidents, and neither do police

I think one of the most important parts of the song gets lost in all the other good stuff and rarely mentioned. "Has a daughter but his favorite artist says he slays hoes, picks her up from school and the music slaps on the way home". The song made it to the top of the download charts and what does Apple do? They took it off of their iTunes store library. So now nobody can purchase it. I even heard that it was taken off of Amazon and Spotify, but I can’t confirm that since I don’t have either. But talk about censorship due to talking truth to power. He isn't referencing the lottery(great story btw)....he is referring to other countries predominantly but not exclusively in the middle east where speaking out against the government will literally get you stoned to death in the streets as punishment...side note there was also a story of a teenage pregnant girl getting stoned to death because she was impure after being raped...so the family offered her up for an honor killing to restore honor to the family for her impure act of being raped before marriage.
