The song is meant to be ironic. The music, heavy auto tune, the outfits, the way the video was shot is all "mainstream". But the lyrics paint a picture that is so sad, especially as a parent it makes me really sad for what people think they have to do to survive.

Tom basically said this was his way of showing how easy it is to write a hit mainstream song. He was right. I'm not a rapper or pop singer. Please, be that guy. Autotune is literally the music equivalent to doping in sports... If you cant hack it without doping/autotune, you dont belong on the track/stage. If you *can* sing and use it for a stylistic effect, thats different.
