I didn't find you through a "controversial" song. I was in a pretty dark place mentally, hating life, myself, my friends, music, EVERYTHING. A random person had on spotify and 'Im Sorry' came on. My entire being changed in that 3 or 4 minutes. Just like that. I found out who you were, and not a day goes by now that I don't play your music, from 'Wannabe' to 'Snowflakes', 'My fans' to 'I don't Care' and everything in between. Super loudly might I add 😁 Point being, you're changing lives. You did more for me in less than 4 minutes than any years of psychotherapy could ever do. I am a struggling addict trying my heart out to get clean... I feel ya.. I had literally no will to get clean and keep myself alive I was basically ready to nod myself to the coffin and then one day I found Tom and his message... I'm still struggling to get there and its "a war that I'll fight forever" but I truly have the deep want to be clean and sober and be proud of this person again.. Do I see that light yet? No.. But do artists like Tom macdonald and the message they carry constantly is making strides in my will to keep trying at getting off this shit no matter how sick I get and how hard it gets to keep going.. Sorry to ramble on in a comment on your post but reading this felt so relatable. just maybe in a different light.. As a fellow artist, I understand this very well. When Tom was explaining writing Dear Rappers, I started tearing up. I didn't expect that, but I know exactly what he's talking about, and I'm still waiting for that moment myself. You just gotta know that it WILL happen eventually, because you won't settle for anything else. Sometimes it seems like you're just taking babysteps toward your goals, or that you're trudging through quicksand to get to them. I think that the harder it gets, the closer you get. Look at the trials as a test. The worse they get, the closer you just might be to succeeding. Gotta hold that faith and never give up. Tom motivates the f**k outta me. If it wasn't for artists like him, I might have given up or settled already. Now, because of guys like Tom (mostly just Tom lol), I won't ever stop because I know that it can happen.
