In October 2018, the Mary Baker Eddy Library opened a new exhibit called "Pathways to Progress: 1968 and Today," which explored the seismic shifts that were hitting the scene in 1968 and the significant improvements that have taken place over the past 50 years, as well as the difficulties that remain and the way those issues are being challenged today.
In conjunction with this opening, The Mother Church sponsored a Christian Science lecture with Tom McElroy, CSB, to talk about how getting beneath surface perceptions to discover spiritual insights is able to lead to healing on both a personal and a societal level.
Mark Sappenfield, Editor of The Christian Science Monitor, joined Tom at the end of the lecture to talk about how he sees these kind of perspectives playing out in the news in ways that are making a tangible difference for the better. Mark and Tom then took questions from the audience on this topic.
