I have a 50amp circuit going to my spa. I have a 40amp circuit going to my well pump. Which should I share? I'm worried the spa losing power twice a day might wear out electronics faster over time. On the flip side, is it bad for the EV charger or car to lose power while charging whenever the well pump comes on for 30 seconds. Maybe the well pump is the best option and then just program the car to charge when no water is used in the middle of the night. But why don't any of these have a 40 amp option on each switched plug?

Reviews were mixed on Amazon for their reliability. I should have listened. Mine died 2 months after warranty ended. Do not buy one of these unless you only need it for a year.

I live in the old house and my dryer is gas powered, but I have a 50 amp electric cooking stove. Is there a way I can split the power from it?

What can you do when the dryer is on the 2d floor. 100 amp home, with no ability to add another dryer circuit. Cant upgrade to 200 sine it's a townhouse ( already inquires). Can you just add a dryer outlet plug next to the panel and share the dryer circuit with the splitter option?

Looking to buy one. Has anyone ever had a problem with this? Either a fire or explosion?

Yes, they do not last long. Mine died 2 months out of warranty.

Wouldn't most people be OK with just the one 30A 10-30 socket to charge the EV and when it's done charging, then unplug it and put the dryer plug back in the socket, so that the dryer is ready to use ? Do you really need simultaneous switching capacity between dryer and EV charger ?

Sometimes it’s hard to get behind your dryer

I basically made a short extension cord of sorts with a 3' dryer cord w/pigtails on one end. I got a second 10' dryer cable and connected it in parallel with the pigtails on the 3' cord to an outlet in a standard circuit box. This basically acted as a 'Y' cable. I plugged the 3' line into the original dryer plug; I plugged the dryer's power cord into the outlet in this box; and I ran the 10' cord through the wall (a few feet away) and into a circuit box in the driveway (other side of the wall) where I put a plug there to use with my EVSE. I do one load of wash a week, and it has not been a problem charging the car. I also live alone and don't need to coordinate schedules with anybody. Before I did this, I looked high and low for just a switch I could use, and didn't find a thing to use. I decided that wiring the two lines in parallel at the plug was the most reasonable in my situation because I just didn't see much likelihood of a problem arising for me. But I could just as easily made it so I need to swap plugs if need be. If I were doing this today or was moving into a new house, I'd probably go with a SplitVolt instead, although it seems a bit expensive for what amounts to an e-Switch. I think the greatest value of the SplitVolt is that it's not "permanent" in the sense that all you need to set it up is a hole in the wall to feed the wire through, and you can take it away when you move with minimal repair work needed.

Those high amp receptacles aren’t really made for a lot of plugging and unplugging. Better to have something like this where it’s more set it and forget it.

Ya my electrician quoted me the same, but I’m lucky my dryer is so close. The only benefit seems to be for renters like me who can’t/don’t want to install an improvement they can’t take with them
