Thanks for this podcast! I am a young pastor and this kind of content feeds my soul. I could listen for another hour... I picked up the book "The Flourishing Pastor" and can't wait to read it.

I think seminary should require all students to work in a restaurant - a good restaurant where alcohol is served - where they learn to work with people as a server, they have to work with fellow wait staff who struggle with drugs, alcohol, and lascivious behavior with gentleness, genuine kindness, and practice sharing the gospel in the context of love. I have learned so much about people, about their paradigms, and my own weakness in the area of self-righteousness through my years of working in a restaurant!

Lost Art? It's not man's ability it's God's. I haven't listened to this whole message yet but the title sure seems man centered. God isn't worried that man has lost the ability to lead people. Trust God not man. He will build the church just as He always has through man. There will always be a remnant for God to use.

Art and ability aren't necessarily, or generally, the same thing.
