Dear Tom, back in the seventies I met mother Osmond in Utah, I’d just like to tell you that she was so caring she cared about every fan, and your family were very lucky to have such a caring mother she was a inspiration to us all.

I’ll never forget the summer my family met you and you and my dad went fishing then lunch at our Koa campsite. You were going to confirm me when I converted to LDS church but changed plannes during to Merrill and Mary’s wedding. Wonderful memories my dad and I talk about to this day. Our common ground was my hearing impaired sister who went on to gauledette and received her degree. Merry Xmas Tom

Tom, Thank you for sharing this. I’m Deaf and can speak pretty good. You’re lucky to have your mother cuz your mother learned sign language. My mother refused to learn it. Only speaking with me. My whole family don’t know either except my brother knows finger spellings. It was very hard for me. Now I’m move on and do positive. 🤟🏻❤️😊

I'm sorry your family wasn't more supportive. I don't know if all of these Osmonds know sign language or not. You can see Donny using sign in the Weird Al "White and Nerdy" video. Watch the one where you can see Weird Al and Donny at the same time through the whole video. (Iirc, the official video cuts all or some out.)

@@brendalg4 it’s okay. I think she learned from the audiologist. Dr. told her not to use sign language and suggested to read lips. I was struggling to learn to read lips for one year then teacher decided to teach me with flash cards like an A with finger spelling and I picked it up then caught up the signs language. I moved on with my grade up. I was one year behind because of that. Some Deaf kids can learn read lips some don’t. Depends on individual. Not all are the same. Later on I learned to read lips with signs language.
