Somewhere I have a VHS copy of this. I remember getting it at a record show back in the mid 80's in Los Angeles. I paid $10 for it. I watched a ton of times back then. Such great memories!!!!!!!

Tom Petty and the heartbreakers in my opinion absolutely one of the best bands in the world I bought my first record when I was 17 Hard Promises then Damn the torpedos followed that one and a couple others.Theres too many excellent songs to pick a favourite but my favourite video definitely was for Don't Come Around here NO More. Thanks for telling about this one. Tom is the only artist so far I truly cried when I heard he'd passed I knew that was it no more heartbreakers.

Younger fans must try to understand...the Heartbreakers even at this period here were already considered one of the best bands anywhere, even before...this was common knowledge when I was 19-20 yrs old....

@@danaatkins6827 I'm in Australia I agree with your comment. There is a tv music program called Rage. When a famous musician such as Glen ( eagles) or Prince passed they always did a tribute which involved playing lots of their music and after in memory of. Nothing when Tom passed. He and the Heartbreakers deserved more respect than that.

I saw this yesterday on the big screen and LOVED IT! HBO says it's only for hard-core fans - well, here I am! One question for anybody that may have seen it: there was a sequence when Tom was explaining how he wrote "American Girl" and he mentioned the riff he used for inspiration. I didn't catch it - did anybody else? or know whom I could ask? Tks!!!

Two years ago when Tom Petty, Somewhere You Feel Free: The Making of Wildflowers came out in theaters for Tom’s birthday, it was then released on KZbin on Nov 11th. So maybe it will be the same with Beach Party!
