I CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO STRUM THIS FOR THE LIFE OF ME
@fuckgoogle86618 ай бұрын
It’s because of the multi track guitars. Listen to an early live version (so there’s no 3rd guitar also playing), a few times before you try to get the album version out of your head first. Might help.

Don't bother trying to follow Marty's exact strumming. Listen to the song and you will figure it out. It complicates things trying to follow all aspects. Strumming is important but only one small aspect.

Marty has taught me from the very beginning but the better I play the more I realize a lot of his tutorials are wrong in some ways but he’s a great teacher and really appreciate his videos 🤘
@fuckgoogle86618 ай бұрын
They all are wrong and it drives me crazy but I’ll check them to see if what I think I’m getting wrong matches. Apparently we screw up completely different things so if he doesn’t drive me nuts first I might find my mistake. Then I have to try and fix it. Sometimes that’s hard to do.

im learning this for my mom as a mothers day gift, and i can say with full honesty that im using your video as a resource for the first time after playing for a year, ive always heard the jokes of you being one of the best teacher on youtube, and i can see nkw that they are very true, you teach very similarly to how my teacher taught me, besides for the bit of pure jamming he always did

This is one of my favorite songs, I've played this on repeat. I just started learning it, Thanks Marty! My fingers are purple but I don't want to stop 😂
@Charlago4 жыл бұрын
If any of you in the comments want to play along with the song I recommend tuning your guitar up so its sharp (between a quarter step and half step up) because the original track is sped up and higher pitched. the most important thing to keep in mind is that your strings should be in-tune relative to each other (basically just make sure you raise the pitch of all strings equally) so your chords don't sound like poop. You don't have to do it and if you're not playing along it doesn't really matter, but if you want to sound like the recording that's what worked best for me.
@marcelcourchesne95194 жыл бұрын
i was trying to figure out the tuning also lol. ac/dc has song that are slightly out of standard tuning also. thanks for saving me some time (y)

Love all your videos man. Just wanna mention, and correct me if I'm wrong, seems like you up pick that 2nd note on D chord in the opening part, but explain it as a hammer. I personally really like the subtle but noticeable difference picking it up and not hammering, for those that didn't catch that variation. Thanks again man, love ya
