​@@Adatewith True, Snape is much more gothic than Tom (I feel like even Snape's sad back story with Lily is like a tragic gothic romance 🤣) but I feel like Tom would not consider himself goth but he definitely loves black and dark things (literally calls himself the dark Lord) so his aesthetic would be dark but not necessarily "gothic."

@@ComedyLoverGirl not all, I’m sure Marvolo would not get anything from me 😂😂😂 I wonder where Ominis got his look from. Tom obviously is a Riddle way more than a Gaunt, but Ominis (?) they’re described as having eyes looking in different ways. Even the orphanage lady thought that Merope came from a circus when having Tom there!

@@Adatewith LOL trueee Marvolo isn't exactly a catch! And as for Ominis's looks, I've thought about that too. Of course the most straightforward reason is because the game is a visual medium so of course the devs made him cute and we're all better off for it hahaha. Same way that most of the actors of the Harry Potter movies are more attractive than their characters are described as in the books. It's just human nature, we want to look at pretty people. I have a feeling that if Hogwarts Legacy was a book, the descriptions for Ominis would not be as generous. Perhaps he would be described as a little strange and shifty, and maybe also wall-eyed like the other Gaunts, but less noticeable than his family members because he doesn't directly look at people. On the other hand, the way I see it, the Gaunt family are not actually inherently that ugly. Their ugliness in the Harry Potter books is mostly from how unkempt they are. Marvolo is literally described as a tramp, while Morfin is basically a nonverbal imbecile. They looked gross because they didn't take care of themselves. It's more like a reflection of their chaotic, deranged inner world. Meanwhile Ominis lives a healthy life in Hogwarts and carries himself well, so it makes sense he's much better-looking even if they started off similar. Also, when the orphanage lady sees Merope, it's at the end of her life - she's been abused for years at home, then spent months as a penniless homeless pregnant teenager on the streets of London after Riddle abandoned her. Of course she looked rough. My personal fan theory though is that Merope is much more inbred than Ominis. In my fanfic about the Gaunts, I write that Marvolo was betrothed to his cousin but then got rejected and, being the pureblood fanatic he is, he insisted on marrying within the dwindling Gaunt family. He's so determined that he ends up marrying his sister, and his sickly children are born from the incestuous marriage. It's a dark fantheory, but honestly Marvolo seems deranged enough to do something like that.

@@ComedyLoverGirl A non-verbal imbecile, omg I laughed so hard! he only spoke parseltongue around...just imagine Riddle Sir on his horse, passing by, and casually hearing some ssssSSSzzzz from Morphin 😂 The closest we can get to seeing their scenario is this non-official film called House of Gaunt, which nails Morphin and Marvolo characters. Probably Ominis appeareance was choosen on the need to emanate calm and trust. It would have been difficult to do that if he looked all croked and unsettling, lol.

Wow, this is a very complex thing to think about. I can't make him sing on the AI sadly. His mother would have been giving Tom's father the love potion the whole pregnancy until she decided to stop and obviously, Riddle Sir left scared, and then she died right away after Tom was born. I think he felt abandoned his whole life, probably the reason why he found emotions foreign, not the love potion cheap excuse.
