Your sort of right, the Celsior and Lexus LS were always basically the same except for the Celsior's stiffer suspension, but this is a TOMS Celsior not a regular version so in addition to the extra bodywork compared to an LS430 and better suspension/handling it has an extra 65hp and 120Nm torque due to its supercharger.
@jkk204 жыл бұрын
in other words it made about 350'ish bhp???

went directly from a 400 1st gen to a 430 prefacelift and I have to admit the 430/celsior in this video reflects my exact gripes with the car. The 400 had way softer suspension and sway bars but used that weight transfer to its advantage with steering, never had it understeer or do anything vastly unpredictable during reckless/spirited driving. My 430 on the other hand seemed to just go the route of stiffening up the entire car but this messed with that golden formula for handling the 400 appeared to have. I've also noticed how much the differential sucks on the 430, with its lock being completely unpredictable. I'm honestly blaming the car in this video and not the driver, even TOMS couldn't truly harness the celsior/430's capabilities, if amazing ones exist.

I reason i will never have a 430. I’m buying a 600HL & keeping my 400.

In a way I see similar issues with the ls430 and my gs400, lots of load transfer in corners due to them being heavy and having softer floaty suspension. They handle really well but downhill track are scary and in a way its uncontrollable with the weight transfer at times

He's right, there's other cars like that too. Like the Infinti G35, in Japan it's called the Nissan Skyline 350GT. There both the same car, just badged differently. That is the same case with the Toyota Celsior.

i was on track with my ls430, it was fun, but brakes sucks, after few stops from top speed they just don’t stop the car anymore, after that i changed brake discs for supra’s, they much better
@eleasandrinhoarantes30783 жыл бұрын
If they were slotted or drilled or both is what made the difference . Not that they were “ Supra “ rotors . They are virtually the same size .
@bbbmmmwwwxxx5553 жыл бұрын
no, they are bigger. I had to make spacers to brake supports. they are not drilled but I guess the thing is in their material - they really brake better
@eleasandrinhoarantes30783 жыл бұрын
@@bbbmmmwwwxxx555 if you say so . The dept of the calipers are different between the 2 , that’s about it . That would cause tou to use spacer . But you actually did extra work for no reason . You could have just gotten cross drilled rotors for your actual model and better pads . That’s what makes the difference . Heat dissipation . It whatever you think 🤔🤣🤣🤣
@saadqureshi37123 жыл бұрын
What year/generation supra? The 98-00 Ls400 had bigger brakes than the mk4 supra. I don't know what the difference is between the 400 and the 430 brakes though, I just know supra guys do an oem bbk using the 98-00 brakes
@eleasandrinhoarantes30783 жыл бұрын
@@saadqureshi3712 what do you mean ? Supras with standard brakes using the 98-00 LS400 brakes ? Because those calipers will mount . The 2001-2005 LS calipers won’t mount without a custom bracket . The Aristo/Supra calipers allow better pad spacing but there isn’t an actual better size than the 2001-2005 rotors much more then the rotor depth .

Dude, you are talking about PACKAGES. I am talking about the vehicle, its platform, powertrains, and body panels. Who cares about available packaging, it is THE SAME VEHICLE as the LS430. Check Wikipedia, it confirms that they are the same. Before you respond, please check Wikipedia.

It looks completely out of place, and out of its element. The Celsior/LS was never made to do this. Just so you know: #1 I run Group Two at Summit Point, I know what makes a good track vehicle. #2 Celsior = LS430. They are the exact same vehicle
@joses53883 жыл бұрын
actually the LS430 was used for street racing and getaways. The LS could have definitely won or handled better if he was using the shift or his actual two feet to control the car
