@@palmshoot it's not even that. just that this was aimed at kids from this specific era. Also, tons of animated kids movies today *still* do the thing you mentioned. It just takes those kids growing older to realize it. Give them time! /gen
@palmshoot7 ай бұрын
@@derpkipper Most Western animated movies released theatically aim for a PG-13 rating or lower because, one, they try to maximize the size of the audience. Secondly, the higher-ups even believe that cartoons are for kids, as Chapek explicitly stated in an interview. Admittedly, streaming services have more leeway because they don't necessarily have to follow the same ratings, but streaming is still relatively new, and folks still have their preconceived notions about what cartoons are/should be. Nowadays, Western animated movies targeted to adults, especially R-rated ones, are still rather rare outside of movies from DC. There's some occasional stuff coming out of France and maybe some indie studies, but there's not much in the way of feature films. So, I'm not exactly sure where you're seeing "tons."

I remember this movie in my Aunt Pam's movie collection of VCR tapes from the old days. I was asked if I wanted to watch a movie I had never seen before, and this was the one, and my dad knew the book of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. I watched another Tom Sawyer film two years ago with Joel Courtney and Jake T. Austin in it, and I liked it more than trying to read the book. My family has a big book of Mark Twain novels in our house along with other classic books my mom had since she was a teenager at the age of 16. And good God! Injurin Joe the evil bear was so 😱 scary years ago when I was a kid.

Same for 2003. In the mid 2000s it was a mix of CG and 2D movies. In late 2000s I have no idea what happened as everything was pretty much CG. And here in the mid 10s 2D animation is almost a dead art now. Hopefully in the upcoming 20s 2D animation will comeback.

clearly, you haven't been on the internet that long. i've seen a man in a darth vader mask/cape and a kilt riding a unicycle in a circle while playing the star wars theme on bagpipes in a parking lot. and the bagpipes were on fire. you think i'm lying? look it up.

I always wanted Tom Sawyer 2 to see how things went on from this movie. Tom x Becky and Huck x Amy. If anybody has a brother like Tom’s, may god bless you.

Tell you what!! I’ve actually written a full length sequel novel to Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. I’m in the process of trying to have it published. Want a copy once it comes out? I think you might like it!!

Or maybe a spin-off Huckleberry Finn when Huck is traveling in the raft with Jim by heading north in the Mississippi River.
