Tom Seaver was to the New York Mets what Mickey Mantle was to the New York Yankees......The face of the franchise. They both had that "All American" look, the kid next door that ANY mother would want their daughter to marry. Tom Seaver had one of the BEST deliveries when pitching, and the "Mick." his swing was pitch perfect....To the two of them....R.I.P

I was a 12 year old little league pitcher on June 8th, 1969 in San Diego, the day Tom struck out 14 Padres. I went too the mound that day and pretended I was Tom, had one of my best games I remember. Since that day I was always a fan of Tom's. Seaver was without a doubt the best pitcher of my lifetime and the man was all class, I enjoyed following him and watching his games whenever I could.

Tom Seaver, The "Real" Tom Terrific, is one of my favorite baseball players, and pitchers, of all time. What a pitcher. What a class act. And the guy was so fun to watch and keep up with. I don't want to tear down the video too much, because it's about Tom Seaver. But they should have had a baseball man do the narration. Because obviously this guy doesn't have a clue about the great American game of baseball.

This channel is "Baseball Icons" so one might think they know and/or understand baseball lol, um, yeah no. The narrator missing Seavers birth date by 50 years to 1994? Verbalized and captioned and ya dont catch it? Ffs lol. Im not going to explain the game of baseball to these people, but Seaver was not a tennis player that won 300+ matches, he won games, 300+ games as a MLB pitcher. I'm certain they wouldn't know the difference between a baseball pitcher and a picture of a baseball. And this debacle all started with the video's title. Geez.

Who is reading the script? He’s referring to baseball games as matches. It’s not tennis, dude. These are games.

Tom Terrific, not Tom Brady, but the great Tom Seaver. He graduated from Fresno High, along with earlier alums, Dick Ellsworth, Jim Maloney, Pat Corrales, and Frank Chance. Two Hall of Famers from Fresno High.

Let's see, how many errors can we find? Born in 1994? Subtract 50 years. He was in the Marine Reserves, not the Navy Reserves. I've never seen anything before about him being a feeble kid. He was smallish until going in the Reserves and gaining 40 pounds, which sent his fastball into the elite level. I doubt he entered the Reserves out of patriotism, though I suppose it's possible. The draft was hanging over everyone's head then and some could read the Vietnam tea leaves, so all kinds of ballplayers went into the Reserves rather than be drafted. He went 10-2 for the Trojans, not "against" them. He did not "give the Reds their best season." 1977, his first season with them, saw a considerable drop off from the previous two years. And just generally -- casting him as a plucky, hard-working little over-achiever who felt fortunate to be in the big leagues. That wasn't Seaver at all. He was an extremely self-confident stud, whose attitude immediately rubbed off on the Mets and turned the franchise completely around.

My favorite all time Met and baseball player. I cried the day I got the news from my niece of his passing. So many great great games he pitched in ! as a ten year old I remember a game against Steve Carlton and the Phillies at Veterans stadium. Seaver won three to nothing with twelve strike outs and all the runs coming from home runs, never forget that day and I have a pennant that my dad bought me ⚾💙
